  1. Automatically save macro enabled template (.xltm) file as macro enabled file (.xlsm)

I have created a macro template file (.xltm), when saving it, it tries to save as a .xlsx rather than a .xlsm.
There might be a few odd reasons for this being needed but surely the majority of the time you want to save the macro with the new file?
This also applies to the "Save As" with any macro enabled worksheet.

  2. Close Excel file without saving

When you have an Excel workbook open just as a scratchpad, it's a hassle to have two clicks to close it (Close>Don't save changes). It would be great to have a command that doesn't offer the 'save changes?' step.

  4. Allow users to continue to view the worksheet when saving in excel. This version hides the workbook when saving which is not good.

Allow users to continue to view the worksheet when saving in excel. This version hides the workbook when saving which is not a good user experience. When working with multiple workbooks it is making my job significantly harder when I try to save my work and have to stop because I can no longer view which workbook I am in. Terrible change from the previous version.

  7. Alternatives to save documents from other online sources like DropBox, Box, Google Drive

Use alternatives instead of only "OneDrive" it makes dificult to share files or to work online, if you had GoogleDrive, or Box, we could work with larger volumes of information instead of using GoogleDocs for one, Box Notes for other and OneDrive for other kind of users... Why not all in one single progam using excel? you will have more usage of the platform

  10. Allow for read only access and read and write access separate passwords.

In previous versions from Office 2007 and below, you were able to set one password for read only access and if you wanted, a read/write password. This allowed desired users to get permissions easier without having to need the extensive knowledge of VBA.

  12. Open file

If I have a workbook open and want to open another workbook, I would like an option to open within the same folder and not picking 'Browse', 'Recent Location' etc. If I use the 'Save As' button it does that, but 'Open' no longer does. Maybe an 'Open In' button? Thanks Microsoft for the opportunity to provide feedback!

  13. Fix for carriage returns breaking csv files.

Cells containing a carriage return break the row when saving as a csv file. Provide a work around, such automatically replacing carriage returns with a space character.

  14. Display online status, "Connected to: OneDrive" just like "Connected to: Exchange" status in Outlook

Too many times when saving a document to my OneDrive from Excel (appl) I receive this error: "UPLOAD FAILED We're sorry.."
Same result when I try again. I have checked my network connection by checking my exchange connection: "Connected to: Microsoft Exchange". I am successfully connected from home office via "MSIT AutoVPN: Conencted"
In the buttom line of Excel status is displayed: "Upload Failed"! Instead I would like to suggest that a status of connection to OneDrive is diaplayed to share with the user if Excel acknowledge a valid connection to OneDrive at this time! Thanks.

  15. Expand the new "Shared with Me" option

While I appreciate the new "Shared with Me" option when opening a file (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), it only shows documents. It would be great to see folders that were shared with me as well and browse to the file that I want to open within the shared folder.

  16. Add "most used" along of "recent"

The open -> recent pane takes up the whole screen, and, past a point, gives irrelevant choices.

What about sharing this pane with "n most used ever" (able to manually delete files from this list).

  19. Be able to select template for a new workbook with the keyboard or at least have them displayed as a list rather than as thumbnails

I have dozens of templates and I know their names, but because the templates are only displayed as thumbnails arranged alphabetically, to use the ones that start with letters like "U" takes multiple mouse clicks. Like it was in previous versions, I would like to be able to start typing the name and get a very limited list of templates (eventually down to one) to select.

  20. Having to click the 'Enable content' button every time I open a worksheet is driving me bonkers! How do we turn it OFF?

This just seems to be a big waste of time and I don't need this feature. I want to be able to disable it.
