My idea is to create an own excel filefomat, which contain all spreadsheets and diagram etc. but only with cell values, not with formulas. Before saving, Excel will fill all cells with the actuall values. It's like selecting all sheets, copy, and paste only values.

If you send this file to other people, it doesn't matter if you use one, vba based, formula or formula which are excisting only in an add-in you use. It's like creating a pdf-file, but you've the full excel-support in your file and the files would be much smaller.

I work as an managing accountant in germany and work with some Excel Add-in like SAP BI or Infor Office Add-In. This add-Ins work with own formulas which are only available for people who als use this add-in. Sometimes I send this files before filling all cells with values and so the recipient only see "name#" in the file.

When protecting a worksheet, add option to allow users of the worksheet to add a row entry. Currently there are options to allow users of protected worksheets to edit entries and delete them but not to add new ones to the last row. EG: I have a worksheet which works out due dates based on last seen dates. The staff I work with are great but will type over the formula if left unprotected, this means I need to protect the worksheet on those columns. When I do this, the staff can add a line but the formula will not calculate as the protected worksheet does not have the option to add a new entry so those cells are locked against formulas. Therefore I am stuck as I can protect the cells but staff can't get the auto update, or I can unprotect it and staff will likely delete/override the formula by accident. As a note: I use the fill down method for the formula as it will never run out no matter how long the sheet is used or how many rows are deleted. It is not feasible to type the formula into the sheet and fill as needed then re protect.

It would be great if there was a way for 2 or 3 people to be in a workbook at the same time and see live changes whilst they're happening.

My colleagues and I work near enough solely on Excel and emails due to the line of work we are in. It is very annoying if someone goes in and inputs something and I put in something else or change whatever is already there and it gets over written because the other person saves it before you do or vice versa.

It would be great it this was an option for us to have.

In Word 2003 I was able to link to 2003 Excel cell data, and have it update, including when i copied the 2 files (word and excel) to a new directory, and in Word,the source file would change to the location of the new excel file. In Word 2016 that option is not available and this is very crucial to our business. Each of our hundreds of projects has their own file folder and excel file with project specific data. The multiple word documents each of our projects uses links to that one excel file. now with the new 2016 software, all word documents reference back to the very original 2016 excel master document and not the project specific excel file within its file folder. I refuse to think that I have to reformat all my word documents to a 2003 version so that my data is linked as it always used to. i cannot stress enough how crucial it is for the data to be able to link for us to carry on business. I hope you take this as a serious suggestion and that this function is re-instated promptly in the 2016 version

I'm sharing a rather basic Excel 2016 file I've created with some other people so that they can enter data into it using Excel Online.

Very frequently, I'm facing the following issue: some cells containing (integer) numbers with the "General" formatting style have their formatting changed to "Accounting" resulting in "1" being displayed as "€ 1.00". If I fix this from the Excel 2016 side of the equation, it comes back some time later.

I'm unable to repro this by editing the file myself via Excel Online (I've tried using https://1drv.ms/x/s!AjBPRo9wXw9s2eZp7PUayA9Pg1rHaw), so it must be linked to some of the other people's environment: browser, OS, locale, regional settings...

Make it easier to remove "Hidden Names" from a file in preparation for sharing.

Here is what happens today if I inspect a document prior to sharing with a third party:

1) It says "Hidden Names" were found. I click for "More Info".

2) The "More Info" dialog informs me that it can't remove these names for me. I need to run a macro, and there is a link to "Macro to Remove Hidden Names". I click on this.

3) I am taken to an example macro, which "assumes I am familiar with the programming language and the tools..."

This is an unbelievable run-around. Please add a simple way to scrub all hidden data from a workbook, to make it easier to share.
