How can we improve Excel for Windows (Desktop Application)?

Protection of worksheets needs refining

Properly protecting parts of worksheets is a key requirement of good spreadsheet design but it present the options available limit what one can do. I suggest the following additions:
1/ Expand the range of protection options so add/edit/delete comments is a separate option for example to allow users to add comments to cells where they are not permitted to change values
2/ Allow addition/deletion of rows within a protected spreadsheet for only a certain range of rows (for instance allow rows to be added within a table, but in the rows above or below)
3/ Allow addition/deletion of columns within a protected spreadsheet for only a certain range of column(for instance allow columns to be added within a table, but in the columns to the left or right)

Allow users to use "insert copied cells" to expand (add rows and columns to) a protected worksheet with some cells locked (e.g. formulas) and some not.

not only that it needs a better form of encryption than the current password level protection. Everyone knows the passwords are like luggage lock and keys. Its there just to keep honest people from making mistakes.

Add a protection to allow to collapse & expand grouped rows & columns on protected worksheets.

Long overdue - never use protection because one can;t insert rows anymore, so I use data validation checking that the lengh of the cell entry is less than a range named cell which either has a value of 0 or 10,000. Set that cell to 0 and they'll get a warning that they are over writing. Can be bypassed by deleting the entire cell, or by copying a value over it, but by and large it works, as all you want to do is stop people from accidental mishaps.

if there is a hidden column between two other columns and if we try to copy the contents of unhidden columns, the contents of hidden column also gets copied. Can we get rid of this problem?

4/ There should be an option to allow or disallow the expanding/collapsing of groupings on a protected sheet.
