It would be nice if we could use Python for writing macros rather than VBA. (I realize that it's possible to automate Excel externally using Python and the COM interface, but this is slow.)
You can already run Python in Excel using TyPy: https://github.com/k8si/typy
As you specified there is also COM and it isn't slow. If it's slow, you're doing something wrong. However there aren't many libraries for it. Really what you should be saying is the COM library isn't extensive as it's no longer being extended.

Everything between /* and */ is ignored by the program. While Python doesn't have native multiline commenting functionality, you can create multiline comments in Python.https://www.sevenmentor.com/python-course-in-bangalore There are two simple ways to do so. Each line that starts with a hash mark will be ignored by the program.

i would also love to see python writing in excel VBA without installing Python application , this will help alot on processing large huge amount of data using Python pandas.

I'm all in favor of Python, and please, please, no java script. Java script is a terrible idea and retro step in computing.
