Fix the "problem with clipboard" mess
This clipboard issue is well known to Microsoft and it can and should be fixed immediately. With all the Ph.D. programmers at its disposal, there is no excuse other than "We don't really care if you users have annoying and time wasting problems with our software. We are working on more important things and can't be bothered with trivial issues." Since we pay for Office 360, we users are entitled to product functionality, and this clipboard issue causes us problems we don't need. Please fix this issue ASAP!

for Microsoft to just "ignore" a well known and documented issue for a paid service is most unprofessional.none of the "fixes" seem to work for me and the error message keeps coming up more frequently.

They say it's only supposed to pop up once per excel instance, but that is BS. It pops up repeatedly for me and is such a pain.
I have this issue not just when dragging/dropping, but copy/paste - ctrl c/ctrl v. No matter that option I try, it doesn't work. The problem is temporarily 'fixed' when I reboot. At this point, I'm rebooting 3-4 times per day.
O365 is complete junk!
It really is problematic. What a pain. You must quickly hit enter or another key to reduce the delay.

This only happens in Excel and only when trying to drag-and-drop. Ctrl X and Ctrl V work properly, as do the Copy and Paste commands. What has broken drag-and-drop in Excel?
I use Office 365 on Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19042 Build 190942
Yes, yes, yes!!! Did you have the same hoop jumping when trying to vote as I did??
Dear Microsoft, If a problem with the clipboard is detected that stops something you want to copy from being copied what do you think the user wants to do?
Do they want to have a popup that says "sorry while we could do the one thing you asked us to do we didn't actually do it because of some error that doesn't really exist so instead we are going to give you a popup that stops you working and forces you to click OK so you have to do the copy process again totally wasting your time" or do you think that the user may want excel to detect the fact it screwed up and have it automatically try to complete the copy process again until there is no problem with the clipboard and the copy process is successful?
I guarantee NO ONE would pick the popup message.
Just fix this MS!
I have used Office for many years, eventually sticking with O 2007 from 2007. I never, ever, ever had this absurd problem with that version. Last year I decided to modernise and use O 365. Bad mistake! I get this stupid annoying message constantly (it also emphasises how much copy/pasting I do!) yet all I see are absurd claims from MS that it's because some other app has a lock on the clipboard. This is probably reasonably accurate, but it's Excel that has that lock, not some other app.
So please, pretty please with cream on top, just debug this and fix it.I assure you it's really easy to reproduce - just copy & paste.
When my renewal comes around, if it's not fixed, I'll have no choice but to go back to the version of Excel that works or LibreOffice, both of which actually do what I want.

I fully agree! I am using Office 365 and the problem happens each time I drag content around. If we will be able to paste the content anyway, don't tell us!

I keep getting the “There’s a problem with the clipboard, but you can still paste your content within this workbook” message in excel, even when I drag content from one cell to another, super annoying when you are a heavy excel user!!
