Improve VBA protection
it is not a secret that the VBA protection password is very weak, it is very frustrating that I can't defend properly a sensitive code in the one of the biggest and popular software (Excel) in the world.
improving VBA protection is a game changer for lots of people.
Unfortunately , where engineering programs are developed and fully checked , they need to be securely locked , otherwise you need to check them every time they are used. Also the VBA code may be used to preve34nt piracy by checking for the presence of a particular file on the server . Howevcer this requires that the VBA code be securely password protected.
I'm going to vote NO on this. I'm glad my co-workers can't lock up critical tools with passwords only they know and then leave the company. It's like a deadbolt lock. It slows most people down but if we have to ***** it, we can. Most of the time what the dev thought was "sensitive" was some slapdash code that did sommersaults & cartwheels around the workbook but no one wants to "steal" it for themselves. We're just trying to get work done.
