Default the Power Query formula bar as on
In the Power Query editor window the formula bar is defaulted as off. This is the first thing I tell people to turn on as it’s key to avoiding unintended errors and future proofing your code.
As Gil Raviv says in his book, “ Enabling the formula bar is fundamental to avoid the pitfalls”
Following your input, we have recently added this feature!
When you open the Power Query editor, you will see the formula bar by default.

Absolutely should be the default setting! I've been using Power Query for over 2 years now, and honestly didn't realize this was even available until 18 months ago. So six months I went without the formula bar...YES! It was a dark time...I don't like to talk about it. ;-)

Has anyone tried this lately? I opened Excel on a PC I am 99% sure I haven't used PQ on and formula bar was showing. It was the 1906 Monthly Targeted build.
Again use MS Access.
Steep learning curve /////
You can program it.

I am very much in favour of enabling the formula bar in PQ.
