How can we improve Excel for Windows (Desktop Application)?

COUNT.DISTINCT Values

Proposal for a built-in function for: Count distinct/unique values in a range

There might be a dedicated function for counting distinct values in a specific range.
Currently the following function is a solution:
=SUMPRODUCT(1/COUNTIF([RANGE],[RANGE]))

However beginner-level users would like probably a predefined parametric function, sg like this:
=COUNT.DISTINCT([RANGE])

Thank you.

Hi Peter - it is on Excel desktop for Windows if you are Office 365 subscriber and Insider Fast. Not sure when it'll be deployed for other channels. That functionality won't be for Excel 2019, have no idea about Excel for Mac.

Hi Sergei, it seems to be a nice solution, as I see it will be working in Excel for Office 365, will it be rolled out on desktop as well? Thank you.

My approach could assist probably the beginner-level users.
