Slicers - Remove the selected criteria when a slicer is deleted
Slicers are great tools to filter Table and PivotTable.
But, when you apply a filter with a slicer and after you remove this slicer from your worksheet, the filter is still active. And it's a nightmare to find the slicer who get the filter.
So, my suggestion, is to remove all the selections of a slicer when it is deleted.

To follow up, if it's too difficult to automatically disable the filter if it's not being used in the PivotTable, perhaps the Field List could be updated to highlight any fields that have active filters on them, whether visible or not. In this way, we would at least solve the issue of having to find the sliced / filtered field.

I would say that the filter on the slicer's field should only be removed if that field does not appear in the PivotTable. When the field appears in the PivotTable, you have the choice of filtering using the filters on the PivotTable or filtering by slicer, so in these cases, there is no reason why the slicer should dominate.
Also, any filters can be added or removed from the Field List pane, so in a sense, the current behaviour is just fine.
