Invert Filter Selection
I'd like to see an option to invert filter selections. For example: If i apply a filter in a table i can select some boxes with a tickmark, but if i want to invert my selection i need to unmark selected itens before and mark the others.
In resume, i'd like to invert itens selected in a filter for the others unmarked.
Thanks for this suggestion. We agree it would be a nice improvement. We will consider this for a future update.

Hopefully this really works in future updates! I really need this, but can you make it on dropdown menu like sort menu? so we can easily found this filter

I hadn't though of Marcos' idea about "blanks" & "#N/A". That would be great to implement along with "Invert Selection"!

Toggle (i.e. select the exact opposite) of all elements ticked in a data filter dropdown menu. When selecting multiple lines, you could toggle the selection, allowing you to see everything else instead - using just a single button click.

Many Many changes in Excel... including some user view features related to multi user editing. That would have been a great time to add this request for INVERT FILTER
I can only think that the development team just doesn't user excel the same way the users do.
When you work with Autofilter, this is such an obvious gap.
So I add one more comment and continue to hope.

1000% agree with this. When working with complex filters, it is extremely tedious to manually switch the boxes. There are time I want to quickly switch between a filtered selection and the inverse ones.

I would love that. I was about to suggest the same thing, but instead I want this post to gain traction. Great suggestion!
This is particularly useful in managing rosters which I do a lot. I need to preform an action on one set of people and then a different on another set of people. Also when tracking invoicing, I have several different statuses to track the last completed action for a milestone. It is important that I have these actions broken up with their own name/filter item, but they do fall into 2 meta categories. Rather than re-selecting the list of new filters I would like to use, a flip-flop/swap/reverse button would be great (Whatever you would call it).
Oh, and btw MS, I am trying to help you by taking a few min to start a user story for your devs... Let's see this update!

Anurag - what you propose is a workaround and in certain cases it might be worth all the extra clicks required however what the EXCEL user community is asking for is a single click "INVERT FILTER" capability. We want to "Invert Filter" like a toggle with one click from the filter drop down menu.

FILTER THAT ROWS AND THEN COLOR IT (YELLOW, RED OR YOUR FAVORITE COLOR)
THEN REMOVE FILTER BY PRESSING (CTRL+SHIFT+L) THEN AGAIN TURN ON FILTER BY PRESSING (CTRL+SHIFT+L) AND IN ANY COLUMN AND SELECT FILTER BY COLOR IN CELL DROP DOWN MENU THEN SELECT "NO FILL" -

Select one column and set a background color (for example Green), then in the filter, filter for color "no color" :-)

We can add different color to the first set of rows, and then we can apply Filter by Color to see the other set of rows. Hope this helps!
