In the File Menu of any Office App (Excel, Word) for Office 2016, have the ability to pin whole folders below the browse button.

Yes, in Word and Powerpoint you can see the "today" option which lists sharepoint file locations used today, and from where file locations can be pinned. In Excel this "today" option is missing, so pinning a new file location cannot be done until "tomorrow" when the used file location turns up under "older". You cannot pin "Current location".
