I work for a financial institution and rely on third party reports that get generated for transactions to certain general ledgers for balancing. However recently I the third party reports have been getting generated into a single column instead of multiple so I haven't been able to sort the data accordingly as needed. I think it would be a great idea to have an editing function where I can split data in a single column by dragging a line between the data (numbers, description, time stamp, etc..) creating columns as needed out of that single column so that the data can be sorted. More or less it would be a fail safe if reports are not generated correctly resulting in data beinfg crunched into a single cell.

Select your column and go to Data tab → Text to Columns. Choose the Fixed width option.
