More formatting options
These are the existing format options available in excel
in most of my business cases i miss all the below fields
Website url map
Social Facebook Twitter
Contact Mobile landline
Pincode Country state
Poll Q1 Q2 Q3
Apps App URL
it would be great if Office can consider adding more formating options
in word,excel etc

I came in here looking for the same. What we're asking for is more along the lines of a "mask" for data input. Taking the special format of "Zip Code +4" as an example. If I set a column to take that format, then I try putting in something like 1234-9876, it will alert me to the fact that I've not entered enough digits. I'd like the same kind of functionality for at the very least emails, and I think the original poster has a point about URLs.
Let us set the field to Special > Email so that when we do data entry, the cell will gripe when it doesn't contain @ and . . Special > URL would require http:// or https:// and at least one dot after that.
Thanks for the additional information. Excel already formats emails, urls, and text entered in cells in the way that you're suggesting.
Can you give an example of text typed in a cell that falls into one of the buckets you've suggested, but is not formatted the way you'd like to see it formatted?
1.Excel is a calculation application
2. Excel is being used for many other purposes
[i use excel over word because the tabular data alignment is easier with merge cells]
the tabular data can be of any content [text, images, url, charts etc]
but working in a social media company the usage of website, urls, email etc are higher
but there is no way to format those inputs
if the formatted field is a url it should have this format by default http://www.domainname.com
if its an email it should be email@example.com
if its a facebook page it should be facebook.com/name
if its a map page it should be bing.com/maps/some-lat-long
if its a pin code it should format to the pincode format of the country selected
if its an app link it should be an url to the apps page
if i create a survey using excel i should be able to filter out all the inputs based on these formatting options. else i will be collecting incorrect/junk data which i have to clean up manually
