Pivot tables - please add ability to save pivot field choices for next time.
I often drop new data into Excel..lots of rounds of new data. Each time i have to apply the same pivot so because of how this Excel is ... every single time i have to choose the same 3 fields and create the pivot. How can i just save this pivot and quickly apply it? why isnt that an option yet?? I want to save time. The data will be new ,but the field names remain the same so i want one click and it applies a saved pivot. We need that.

In what case would you need to remake a PivotTable each time you have new data? Why not just update your existing table and refresh your existing PivotTable that is based on that table?
Great. That is a doable workaround. It works ..for now. So nice seeing it just maintain the column widths as that is a major PIA to keep adjusting if u have anything below on same page that u may want to use for reporting. I also really want to have it rememeber my field choices too. Every single darn time i have to select the same fields to create a pivot. The data is new , but all the fields are the same. SO i wish we could save our pivot choices some how rather than having to re-select the same 3 fields and put them in the proper boxes. ugh. Need that.
@gmoProXL - for setting the column widths prior to creating the pivot, check out this idea: https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/10535790-allow-users-to-set-choose-defaults-via-settings
Until that idea is implemented, you can get to PivotTable options immediately after creating the PivotTable (before you add any fields) and you can turn off the column resizing, so that even the first column you add doesn't resize anything.
So this may be an enhancement suggestion to add ability to shut that re-sizing feature down prior to creation of the pivot. The resultant pivot table will just fall into the column-width that is set in the destination tab. That is what i need so that i dont have to resize anything. See, i put other data below the pivot and i am tired of resizing columns due to diff. numeric output in the pivots above. Please look into that. Thanks.
Does anyone know how to set it before you create a pivot table to have the resultant pivot just maintain the column-width? I know how to change that after i create it , in case i want to refresh, but how to u do it before you create the first pivot table??
