Create a scratchpad for taking notes while working in Excel to store "ToDo's", copied data, temporary data, etc.
I'd really appreciate if there will be a window pane (similar to "Selection Pane" for objects) within Excel where I can copy/paste/fill temporary data that could serve as a reminder or reference to whatever I'm working on or for whatever purpose it may serve. Currently, my workaround to this is to open Notepad and Excel side-by-side, adjust the size of Notepad and Excel to fit window height, adjust Notepad width enough to fill some data but small enough to still view lots of data in Excel. The problem with this approach is whenever I would like to view more data from Excel that is occupied by Notepad and try to reclaim the space temporarily by hitting "Maximize" button from Excel, I will not be able to restore it down to the same size by hitting "Minimize." And so, I have to re-size it to be able to view Excel and Notepad simultaneously.

Also that it could show the result of a calculation without having to enter it into a cell. Example, I am filling in text to a sheet, I want to know how many blank fields are still left uncompleted in my 300-row sheet ! A little floating cell saying "150" (from counting blank cells in the range) would give a progress indicator !
I agree, a scratchpad would be fantastic. I envisioned it working much like the Notes panel from PowerPoint.
