Excel Pivot Tables Auto Time Grouping by Week
In Excel 2016 you can only group by day, month, quarter or year. Please add the ability to group by weeks or re-add the capability to group by number of days for pivot table data.

The best way to accomplish this is to add a column to your data that specifies the week. By using a custom formula, you can organize the weeks any way you want, with any starting day of the week, and also name them any way you want, whether “Week of July 10” or “Week 34” or something else. Then you can use that column in a PivotTable to see data grouped by week.

Fully agree, grouping by weeks would be extremely useful!
Month is sometimes too long period to analyze, while if you group by Days it is not showing you proper trends -

grouping by the number of days works, but it doesn't provide the ability to expand or collapse the data once it is grouped. We should be able to expand/collapse the groups as well(the same way we can do for months/years)

Of course, there's the issue of when the week starts and ends. In North America, the week starts on Sunday. In Britain, the week starts on Monday.
