Not responding!!!
Not responding most of the time, especially half way through, and suddenly all files became "not responding". The only way is to go to Task Manager to End Tasks. Meaning, most of the work will be lost and wasted.
Wonder if Microsoft can pay (Using Money) us back with such valuable data lost?
Constantly saving files is one thing but we don't know when (everytime using) it will freeze.

I have experienced "not responding" by large calculations and with a lot of patience it will be ready after a while. However, I think it would be convenient if it was possible to interrupt the calculation even if it is in "not responding" state.

Oh, and the reason why all of your files freeze is because they're open in the same instance of Excel. You can open a new instance of Excel by opening the Excel executable file again.
Save often, my friend.

Hi Anonymous. It's probably just taking a very long time to calculate and is not actually frozen. See my post:
https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/10781952-need-a-better-distinction-between-long-calculatioNow I will say this: I have seen Excel in a "not responding" state that it doesn't seem to get out of. It seems to occur when the memory usage exceeds about 1 GB (I don't know the exact cutoff). Just before that point, it might take 5 minutes to calculate, but slightly after that point, it can go on for much longer and doesn't seem to finish, suggesting that it's legit frozen. However, I don't have enough information to make it a formal suggestion. I was using Excel 2010, 32-bit.
Anonymous, if your case fits the description that I just described, then could you upload your workbook for us all to see? Obviously, change any confidential information. Ideally, you would give us a just-barely-working workbook and then describe to us how we can make it "not responding". See my post for an example of this:
