Bring back the "Light Gray" theme
"White" is too light, "Dark Gray" is too dark, and "Colorful" is too green! The "Light Gray" theme from Office 2013 was perfect - please bring it back.
I think most themes themselves are fine but the worst thing is that the background color for cells doesn't change and it is way too bright. I can, of course, change the color for cells manually but there are more drawbacks than benefits compared to cell background color being tied to a theme.
Let the image speak for itself, how awful the contrast is!
I would go further and allow the user to select a color other than dark green or black, gray or white.

Gary, you sound like Goldilocks. :P
Return to Office 2013 (or better still 2010) themes. Office 2016 is just awful - either far too much or far too little contrast. I've gone back to 2013. I just cannot understand how unintuitive MS is when it comes to its software.
Or, just have another version of the "colorful" that is "Light Colorful" I like the color because it lets me instantly see what programs are what - but the current colorful is way too strong. A much lighter version of it would be perfect for me.
Please put back the Black theme. Ugh, white is way too hard on the eyes for us who have to share at the screen all day. Isn't any UI folks up to date on basic UI principles? Why is Office so anti-dark themed?
on excel 2016, we have 3 office theme color : white, colored and black.
i personally prefer white theme because i don't like green toolbar. Nevertheless, the background (which is visible when you hide some columns) il also white.
So we have white cells above white background which is very tiring because it's very hard to differentiate cell and bottom so you have to concentrate all the time.
Display option were much beter on excel 2013 (white cells above grey background).
