Option to allow overlapping window to always be on top
When working with overlapping windows of excel it would advantageous if we had the option to treat them like shapes and layer them so that you could work on a window that sits in the back while watching the effect it has on a smaller window that sits on top/in the front. The current set up always bring forward the most active window.

Dan, yes it is based on the camera, except that the images are higher quality, and you can add a chart, whereas it doesn't seem that the camera tool allows you to watch a chart. It auto-updates when any cells in the watched range change values, or when the value of any cells in the chart's data series change.

Have you tried the camera tool in Excel (it's not on the Ribbon, you have to add it in File > Options > Customize Ribbon or QAT)
In general, we're unlikely to change the actual system-level windowing paradigms in Excel, but I think Periscope is basically a copy of Camera Tool.

Yes the periscope feature is a good example of what I mean. It would be great to have it natively in excel and be able to edit the floating window as well.

Is the Periscope feature (for ranges and charts) in FormulaDesk similar to what you mean? http://www.formuladesk.com
