  1. Filtering Needs to Work in Co-Authoring

    Say that several people are editing the same workbook. If Tom filters to show only his records, then the other people will only see Tom's records. We need to be able to have each person apply a different filter and see only their records.
    Note that it is fine to require that the workbook can not have SUBTOTAL or AGGREGATE functions in order for independent filtering to work. If you allow these functions, then everyone will have different calculation results which would be problematic.

  2. Enable collaboration with others editting in Excel desktop

    In Word and PowerPoint you can collaborate from the desktop as well as online. In excel, whenever anyone opens the document on desktop others get locked out of editing and can only view. This is a problem for our organisation since occasionally remote team members need to edit the file on desktop but failure to close down the document properly (either accidentally or because the OS somehow did not release the file lock which has happened on Mac's) means the entire team is suddenly unable to work for extended periods until we track down the culprit.

    Hello All – If you haven’t already heard Coauthoring in Excel is live in production. In July we released co-authoring in Excel for Windows Desktop to all customers in our monthly (cc) current channel.   3. Return share workbook functionality to Excel 2016

    Excel 2016 has recently removed the share workbook functionality and hidden the icon for easily sharing workbooks. It appears that this has not taken into account spreadsheets that are saved on file servers, and aren't uploaded into the cloud (ie the co-authoring functionality). Please return the functionality so that workbooks can be easily shared.

  4. Allow brackets in filename or path

    When a person's display name contains a bracket character (such as a departmental suffix) this bracket is included in the folder name of a OneDrive shared folder. When a recipient of that OneDrive shared folder attempts to modify an Excel spreadsheet and save it back to the shared folder, they will see an error that the file could not be saved due to invalid characters in the filename or path.   5. Allow autosave/co-authoring for password protected workbooks

    When using co-authoring with Autosave in latest Excel desktop client, it fails if the workbook is password protected. Allow multiple users to edit a password protected workbook.

  6. Enable Excel to send a Task to Outlook

    Some users use Excel for tracking of various tasks or operational reviews. At the end, follow-up minutes and tasks will have to be created. It would be great to have a function like in OneNote to create a Task in Outlook. Information about Due Date and Assignee should be embeddable into the cell with a little popup window.
    When in Outlook, you should be able to click the task and go back to the Excel document (and specific cell) stored on the SharePoint.

  7. Disributed calculation (with colleagues computers)

    I'm sure that Microsoft's experts will be able to optimize the Power Query code. However, almost certainly there will be users with very massive models that update very long. Please add the possibility of using distributed computing to process Power query queries.
    It would be very cool if we will be able to configure in a simple interface wich of colleagues computers in the local network (and maybe on the Internet), whose resources, can be used to speed up the calculation. And when processing queries, use avialable resources together.

  9. unique user view of filtered data in shared worksheet

    allow users of shared worksheets to filter their view of the data without affecting the view of others who are also using the same spreadsheet even when saving the document.

  10. Enable data query refresh (with PowerPivot tables) when workbook structure is protected

    I want to protect the queries from being changed but want users to have the capability to refresh the data model (that uses PowerPivot).

  11. Excel Collaboration and Sharing

    Issue:
    There are many times where my co-workers and I are required to work in the same spreadsheet simultaneously. The excel web application allows us to do this but does not contain the full functionality of excel that is required to do our work. Although Excel already has as shared spreadsheet option, each time a user wants to see updates, they have to save and hope the other person saved their updates as well.

  14. Paste tables from word / outlook without splitting multiline cells into multiple rows

    let users paste a table from Word / Outlook to excel without introducing new rows... (just ignore the line breaks so that multiple lines of text from a cell in WORD is still just one cell in EXCEL.

    these tables in word or outlook are probably pasted from Excel to word/outlook in the first place :)

    copying tables back should be the same... or maybe a PASTE SPECIAL option "paste from table"...

    Without this feature, your users have been for the past decade using workarounds like:
    * paste in to google sheets and moving that file back...
    * replace newline…

  15. Sending selected worksheet over an email without any other sheets

    I work on excel file with multiple sheets whenever i want to send my working i need to copy it to new excel and send it. Can we have option of sending the selected worksheet over an email as new excel file with the name as your worksheet.

    This will reduce lot of time and data for not saving in multiple files. Helps user to check in single file.

  16. Allow full functionality with shared workbooks.

    With the shared worked book i would like to see if i can now merged and actually change things besides just adding rows and columns. i would like to merge,and cells and etc while also tracking what someone else is doing in the same workbook. Same goes for excel online, i like to track what the other person on the workbook is doing.

  17. Allow Excel files to be easily compiled into a secure .exe file format to prevent copying.

    Excel may be powerful, but its security is WEAK and can be HACKED easily. There are an increasing number of competitors who offer the ability to "compile" Excel files into a .exe file. It would be better if Microsoft offered this ability themselves.

  18. Sharable link to specific tab in spreadsheet

    It is common to have multiple tabs in your spreadsheet and only want people you collaborate with to work on a specific tab, or at least focus on one.
    I would like to be able to share a link to an Excel spreadsheet that opens the document on a specific tab.
    I envision the feature to be exposed via a right click on the tab and as an additional option in the Share box which would default to the currently opened tab.

  19. Share individual worksheet

    It would be useful if it was possible to share individual worksheets in an Excel workbook. I would like to be able to create a workbook with multiple sheets and share just one of those sheets with others Office 365 users.

  20. Enable coauthoring to work with files stored on Dropbox and other cloud storage providers.

    Co-authoring works well on Excel desktop in conjunction with OneDrive based files. There is however currently no solution for businesses using Dropbox or other cloud providers.

    Can we enable co-authoring with these too? Particularly Dropbox.
