Default pivot table's to default to "Sum" rather than "Count"
I would like the default on pivot tables to go to "Sum" rather than "Count" or have an option for the user to select what the default is.
22 votesThe default is already SUM as long as the data in the field is numeric. It changes to COUNT when there are text values in the data because we cannot SUM non-numeric data. The current behavior is the intended design.

Add Median Value to Pivot Tables in Excel 2013
Add Median Value to Pivot Tables in Excel 2013
1 voteHi,
Thanks for your suggestion, but as Kenneth suggests, we don’t generally add new features like this to older versions of the product.
As such, adding your vote to this UserVoice idea is the best way to register your support for this:
Cheers,
Dan [MS]
