List sheet names vertically in a scrolling list sidepanel
The current way of navigating sheets is extremely slow and strenous and should be obsoleted and replaced with a vertically scrollable list sidepanel without the need of 3rd party add-ins.

Make Excel obey the "scroll inactive windows" setting in Windows 10 (resubmitted Aug 2020)
Make Excel obey the "scroll inactive windows" setting in Windows 10. Currently Excel will scroll when it is an inactive window, but it will not allow other windows to scroll when it is the active window. This makes transcribing data from a source that needs to be scrolled difficult.
This idea was apparently fixed in 2018 (link below) but perhaps something broke it, as it is present at this time, evidenced also by the long comment thread in the "completed" item.
Please fix this again.

"Worksheet Sorter" for Excel
A useful tool in PowerPoint is the "Slide Sorter" which allows you to quickly view, navigate and rearrange many slides. I think adding a "Worksheet Sorter" in Excel's "View" tab would be just as useful, and would make navigating 20+ worksheets much, much easier. If you agree with me please vote!

Give users option to display multiple workbooks in a single window like pages in a web browser
In edge, chrome, firefox, etc a user can open 1, 2, 3, or 100 pages inside one browser window, then easily switch between them. Let's bring that same simplicity to excel!

Active Cell auto-highlights cell row and column
I believe it would be useful to automatically highlight (in a colour chosen by the user but a default lightly-noticeable colour e.g. lightgrey would be good) the row and column associated with the active cell(s)

Allow users to unhide more than just 1 sheet at a time
Having to unhide sheets one by one is obnoxious, feels like this could be an easy feature to add

User usage tracking
Would be great to have a way to monitor the usage of an Excel File. working in Finance, many of the reports we produce can be used or not used. having a mechanism for a file author to get usage statistics would be super helpful. for example each time the report is being opened it pings the server and let the author know through a report sent weekly or daily (customizable).

Scroll to "Last/First sheet" buttons
The current way of navigating sheets is slow and strenous, the "Scroll to last/first sheet" buttons were available before next to the " scroll to next/prev sheet" buttons then they have been removed.
So, please bring back the "Scroll to last/first sheet" buttons.4 votes -

Add Freeze Pane to freeze top row and first column at same time
Excel currently allows Freeze Pane for top row or first column but not both at same time. I know that you can use the Freeze Panes where you pick a specific cell and it freezes everything above and to the left. That works great unless something happens to the data row that you froze around or if you are filtering. Having a button that would freeze both a row and column at the same time would be more foolproof, especially for users who aren't savvy with Excel.

Resize excel drop down menus
Be able to change the size of all drop down menus and right click menus in Excel (Larger)
I have been working with Excel for decades and now as I am getting older I shouldn't have to squint or strain to see right click menu options, drop down menu options, or ribbon options at a font size of 6, 7, or 8.
A monitor is larger than a piece of paper. scroll bars are easily used. Why can't we have these menus available at a font size of 14 if we want them to be?1 vote -
Provide a standard function called "Last()" which will find (and/or go to) the last populated cell, column or row in a worksheet
This function would find (and/or go to) the address of:
(a) the last populated cell in a designated column or row or range in a specified worksheet; OR
(b) the last populated row or column in a worksheet.
These would be particularly helpful options when, for example, the user wants to specify the extent of a range, which has a moving target for the last cell in the desired range.
Similarly, a function called "First()" would help in finding and/or specifying the start of a desired range in a worksheet.
It might even be practical for any such functions to…
