2 votesHi Amy,
This is already possible in Excel today.
1. Press Ctrl+F to open the find dialog.
2. Click “Advanced”
3. Click on the “Format” button and select the format (cell colour) you want to count
4. Click Find AllThe find dialog will list the count of occurrences of that formatting that you selected.

Add the BANG function for statistics Please
The ! (pronounced BANG) function is useful in statistics. If for example I
have 5! it means 54321. When calculating odds it is a slick way of making calculations less complex.1 voteHi,
This is already supported. Check out the =FACT function.
Hope that helps,
Dan [MS]
Hello, i have a need to round values up in the example "roundup say 6.2 or 6.3 to 7"
Is there a way to round up any fraction of a positive integer to the next positive integer e,g, 6.1 to 7?
1 voteHi Ken,
Check out the CEILING.MATH function.

Be able to pastspecial the content (basically the code) of a specific Cell without entering in the cell and select/copy the line
For example if the content in Cell A1=SUM(B1:C1), you should be to paste this content: "=SUM(B1:C1)" where you want, for example in Cell A5, without locking cells. It could be useful when we have to copy and paste formulas from a workbook to another one (without the problem of REF)
2 votesHi Simone,
You can do this in Excel already today. Instead of copying the entire cell (by selecting the cell in the grid), double click on the cell to enter edit mode, select the formula, and copy it.
Paste that into the destination and it won’t adjust.

quick analysis improvements
We need better sum and subtract quick analysis features that include the number in an existing cell rather than paste to a new cell reference. Especially helpful would be the ability to quickly subtract some positive values from another.
1 voteYou can do this already.
1. Copy the values you want to subtract from other values.
2. Select the range you want to subtract those values from and choose Paste Special > SubtractCheers,

Allow me to insert things like 19 without automatically correcting to the date.
basically what the title says. This is a thorn in my side, as there's no existing type of cell format for this input.
1 voteHi,
You can do this already in Excel today – there are two ways:
1. You can type an apostrophe before the data you enter → ’19, and Excel will then not interpret that as a date (it will interpret it as Text).
2. If you format the cell as Text before typing the value in the cell, Excel will not interpret it as a date.
Hope that helps,

Countifs with multiple choice in the same range: COUNTIFS (A1:A20;">=32";A1:A20;"<85")
Allow countifs to manage < and > in the same range.
Example
NOW: COUNTIFS (A1:A20;">=32")CONTA.SE(A1:A20;"<85")
IN THE FUTURE TO HAVE THE SAME RESULT:
COUNTIFS (A1:A20;">=32";A1:A20;"<85")1 voteThis already works with COUNTIFS

have a amortized schedule not just for loans, but also for lines of credit
have a amortized schedule not just for loans, but also for lines of credit
1 voteThere are already templates in the gallery that support this (many of the loan calculators).

Excel convert signs
It would be really efficient to have a functionality in Excel to be able to convert the numbers sign (Positive to Negative, Absolute) and also to convert data formatted as 15.15 to 15.15 (That is the sign is on the right where it should be on the left)
1 voteHi,
This is already supported. To convert signs,
1. Type 1 in a cell
2. Copy the cell that contains 1
3. Select the range you want to convert
3. On the Ribbon, choose Paste Special (or press Ctrl+Alt+V)
4. Choose MultiplyThat will convert all numbers in the selected range to the opposite sign.

Please add bold formula for some word in cell
when I type a sentence in a cell, I need one or several words in the sentence to bold because the word is important. I wish there was a formula to thicken the word that until now I have not found in the set of formulas excel.
1 voteIf you are typing a sentence in a cell (that is, you have the actual text in the cell), you can select any word(s)/character(s) in that text and press the [B] button on the ribbon (or use Ctrl+B) to make that selection Bold (or apply other formatting).

1 voteHi,
Ctrl+F (Find) still exists in current buidls of Excel 2016. If you’re experiencing issues with it, please post the version of Excel (found under File > Office Account) you are using.
Thanks,
Dan [MS]
Please return "Ctrl+{" or "Ctrl+[" to follow link (ref to precedent cell) used in formula!!!!!!
I'm a financial analyst and it's very hard to check big financial models with a lot of formulas and spend time of arrows.
1 voteHi,
Ctrl+{a and Ctrl+[ should still work to follow dependencies (I just tried in the most recent version of Excel 2016).
Can you let me know what version of Excel you’re using where the behavior isn’t working anymore?

The F4 function key
The F4 function key no longer insert the $ to lock in cell locations. Fix it.
1 voteHi Bob,
This still works. Please make sure you’ve got the Function Lock feature of your keyboard enabled.

There needs to be a "track changes" button like the one on Microsoft word.
Word has an icon and ability to track changes to your document. This needs to be installed on Excel instead of leaving comments. This makes it easy to work with when sending an excel document to other people.
6 votesThere is already a track changes button on the Review tab of the ribbon (enable it by first selecting “share workbook”).
However, selecting this item does limit the types of changes you can make in your workbook, so you may find that it’s not as useful as you’d like.
Longer term, we want to build a system that tracks changes made by users via a service so that you can go back to any point in time in a spreadsheet’s life.

I teach statistics why can't I have a "Mean" function.
It would be easier to type and would tieinto Stats language. This is so easy. A function labeled "MEAN".
2 votesHi Michael,
We’ve got this already in Excel today, check out the =AVERAGE function.

Allow VLookup to accept functions e.g. Max($B$1:$B$10)
Allow VLookup/HLookup to accept functions e.g. MAX($B$1:$B$10) as the look up value. It currently returns #REF! whether using exact or approximate value.
1 voteHi JL,
This is already supported. See Kenneth’s comment below.

CINT, CSTRING, CDOUBLE as Formulas
You can do it in VBA, can we just have it as a formula to avoid txt to number drama.
