  2. "TIME TRAVEL" FEATURE.

Excel To include with time travel feature. This will facilitate to access back the file even if saved for erroneous data which will enable to access file for previous times status like 5min, 10min, 15min etc. back or before. In this way even file saved with heavy mistakes can be retrieved back to previous status and can be utilised for further work without redoing as whole. It is like restore to some known good configuration as in windows registry.

  3. Enable date and time shortcut in file saving window

I majorly work on one main master file, i used to update very frequently.
While saving file name i use date or time at the end of file name to find the recent one. If you enable shortcuts "Ctrl" + ";" for date and "Ctrl" + "Shift" + ";" for time which will be so useful for me.

  7. Add a CSV mode

Excel is currently designed so that the CSV file format is not an Excel file format. The "Open" and "Save" functions make this clear.

However, if Excel had a "CSV mode", it could be the world's leading CSV editor. Such a mode would be able to be associated with .csv files and would remove all the Excel features that create data that cannot be saved in the CSV format. While in this mode, the file would by default be saved as a CSV.

If a user wanted to use Excel's full functionality with the file, they would need to enable…

  8. When excel opens you should show PINNED files before showing RECENT files; what's the point of having pinned items? Am I missing something

Open excel showing PINNED files first. What's the point of showing RECENT files before showing PINNED files? that's totally inefficient and illogical. Or, am I missing some setting to fix that problem. If so where's the setting?

You have recent files all over the place, like Quick access etc.

  10. Stop trying to enforce OneDrive, its so annoying...

I cant even use the autosave feature locally... At this point I wish there were an alternative to Microsoft Office... This is the worst thing about having a product that is owned by a company that has lots of different services... Sooner or later it will try to enforce their own garbage to the user. The perfect example is edge with the bing search engine... Grow on a pair Microsoft.

  11. Eliminate the new "Save your changes to this file?" dialog box

In the last week, whenever I close down a new Excel file without saving it, a new dialog box appears asking "Save changes to this file?". Whereas previously I could use keyboard shortcuts to immediately close down a file (Ctrl-F4, N), this no longer works. Instead, the new box interprets the "N" keypress as something to be entered into the "File Name" text field.

  12. GIFs as Password

Could you please build an Add-in for MS Excel that allow us to set GIFs as password to the files?

    Advantage/Need:
1> Enhanced user experience (exciting/funny to use them).
2> Need it as an Add-in so that this change could be reverted if required.

  13. "automatic except for data tables"

You should be able to save the Excel Options > Formulas > Calculation Options > Workbook Calculation setting permanently. No matter what workbook was opened first or last.

The problem is when you use data tables often (in my company's case they are in every spreadsheet for a specific department), across many different workbooks, it is annoying to have to constantly turn the setting to "Automatic Except for Data Tables" every time you open a file that didn't have this setting last. It slows the spreadsheet down considerably. I just want to turn it off and keep it off. No…

  15. Setup Configurable - File Name Process in Settings.

Have the Ability to default a File Name, instead of book1.xls

Eg. We would like to set the date get YYYYMMDDVersionInitials_Filename.xls

    Eg, 20200831JVMyexcelfile.xls

  16. Enable multiple workbooks in a single Excel instance.

Please update Excel so that it can open multiple workbooks in a single instance, like it used to. Having multiple instances open hinders my efficiency: I can't ctrl-Tab between workbooks and I can't Paste-Special from different Excel instances the same way I can within the same instance.

    Thanks

  17. Use default windows explorer for saving files. Your unique UI sucks ***

Your Save / Save As UI is terrible. Why did you create something new when you could've defaulted to an experience 100% of your users are already familiar with?

  18. Open Excel at the pinned list

Make it possible to open Excel at the pinned list rather that the recent files list

  19. export to csv without saving as

Excel in recent editions has the 'export' function. It would be nice to add the posibility of exporting from an excel file without the 'save as' process.
In this feature it would be good to include the wishes elsewhere to manage the csv file, as an example manual control of comma vs semi colon.

  20. Checkbox next to the filename to save or discard on close, with changeable default

A very frustrating user experience could be avoided.

This selector/switch/checkbox could be anywhere on the title bar, perhaps to the left of the window control buttons.

The default behavior could be a changeable preference setting. This option could allow for context, such as if the file is new or recently used then it will always save on exit. (It could even highlight somehow, indicating a save location needs to be assigned.)

Closing windows is so annoying and problematic; please fix this.

It would vastly lower the number of reboot and other complications.

All Microsoft products should do this.
