  1. Bug in the color function with scatter graphs

When I have a scatter graph with two or more variables (A & B) and I make some change to A, often the color of B will change to be the same as the color of A. II then try and change B back to its original color, A will change to the color that I change B to. I have to save the file, close it, and open it again in order to change A back to its original color. This happens all the time -- normally, I'd say -- when I make a change in one of the…

  3. Graph Data Labels Disappearing when Filtered

    Good Morning,
Below is a post I put into the Microsoft Community Page on an Issue I am having with graphing. The Moderator was able to re-create the issue and told me to post here.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/db1ebc99-3e68-4aa2-aeb7-1903fa3d9909

The issue is When you have a bar graph by month, and want to filter out older months, for every month you uncheck, you loose a data label in the later months on the graphs.

I would like to see this issue fixed in a patch if possible. It would prevent me from going back to Excel13 to get my graphs printed each month.

  4. I'm using Excel to create a parametric design and have hit the upper limit on the number of lines that can be drawn, namely 255.

It would be great if the upper limit to the number of lines that can be drawn in one graph was increased from 255 (in the version I have) to, say, 500.

  7. Improvement of Ribbon bar collapse behavior

Collapsing the ribbon bar from the right hand side to the left is not always preferred, despite the design goal being to put less frequently used items on the right. The fix: when the ribbon is wider than the current window, use small scroll buttons to shift the "active" portion of the ribbon left or right (collapsing the ribbon on the other side).

This would make work-flows which use rely on either side easier without sacrificing real estate or functionality, and make the ribbon more extensible without changing its essential nature or look and feel.

  8. Provide an ortho feature for inserting straight lines that are vertical and horizontal

We combine spreadsheet calculations and graphics on the same worksheet. Provide an orthogonal line function (insert > shapes > line) like in AutoCad to make it easier to draw lines that are perfectly horizontal and vertical. As it is it is very difficult to draw vertical and horizontal lines.

  9. copy as picture fails when you increase the size the apps in Windows 10

In Windows 10, when you go to display settings and increase the size of text, apps and other items to let's say 150% (sometimes it happens with 125% as well), and you select a range in Excel and use the copy as picture function, it copies more than what's selected. Really annoying, please fix!

  10. Save custom shapes for use in multiple files.

Have a "My Shapes" area available to save custom shapes.

  11. Userform resizing bug in Excel 2016

In Excel 2016, if the userform size is modified with vba codes during initializing, the the visual size differences are approximately 7 twips smaller (top, left, height, width) than actual assigned size.

By testing and comparing userform size with Excel 2013 and 2016.

  12. To reinstate the auto size function on Excel chart after manually resizing the plot area

After I manually resize the plot area, the function is gone. For example, the plot area was able to auto fit the chart area after adding/removing a chart title if the plot are was not resized. After manually resize the plot area, the size of plot area will stay the same, instead of instead of auto-resizing the plot area to fit the chart area.

  14. in a graph why no an option for dates at the botom with a 0 line where ever 0 falls.

Whith a time series graph where the data varied from positive to negative Excel puts the dates under the zero line and one canot read the data well and it looks a mess so I change the axis line so that it is at some large negative number and the dates go to the bottom, but then he zero line vanishes and I either have to clutter up my graph with a lot of horizontal lines or draw one in by hand. Why not have a zero line optioption?

  15. Link copied graph with copied data not the original graph data

I have created a graph for company A using data for company A.
I want to create the same graph for company B by copying the Company A graph and data and then linking the data to Company B figures. But when I copy the Company A graph and the data (in one copy-paste operation), the new graph is linked to the original Company A data. I then have to manually amend all the graph links which is time consuming. I think it would be great if in this case (one copy-paste operation: graph AND data) that the copied graph…

  16. Could you make an "express" version of Excel that would be burdened down with all the graphics options? 365 is slower than 2007.

I upgraded to office 365 from 2007 and I've been using it for a couple months but I find that the new version is slower and more laborious than the 2007 was. I'm wondering if you could make an "express" version that would not have all the screen tips and graphics but would be quicker to use.

  17. Editing cell ranges in graphing is not intuitive

When editing cell ranges in graphing you can't use arrow keys to move without messing up the range when trying to change the column or row being graphed. This is something I will often do when using a graph as a template. It just adds a step with the mouse, but if I could just arrow over, it would be quicker.

  18. Insert tolerance curves to the graphical trend line

On your graphic, when you add the trend line, it can be very useful to have the possibility to add the upper limit and lower limit lines. For example, the X axis contains the number of hours due to projects, and the Y axis contains the projects' price. It would be very useful to implement limits (up and down) to the trend line. Then, you can have an estimation of the number of hours you can use for a project of a certain price, and vice versa.
You fix the percentage of gap you want (Exemple +/- 10%) and it…

  20. Graphics rendering for printing (bug fixes)

A few years ago I found a reproducible bug when putting a graphic (company logo) in the upper right corner of each 'printed' sheet of a worksheet (each column was set to be the width of one printed sheet). For reasons to extensive to discuss here, page header was not a good option. The graphic was moved (left/right) on page 1 only, subsequent pages were fine. Our only solution was to manually adjust the logo on page 1 until the physical print looked fine. This was all at 100% no zoom. IIRC, an Excel MVP was able to repro as…
