  1. Integrate Census Tract geographies into map based charts

    The maps in Excel now allow for states, zip codes, addresses, counties, cities, and countries.

    I work in fair lending analysis for a bank and all of the work that I do is based on the census tract. I have been using latitude and longitude to peg approximate spots on maps to express data, but having the map recognize and shade the borders of a specific census tract would be an amazing enhancement in the clarity of my presentations.

  2. Workspace Layout

    Please bring back the workspace layout. The separate windows just makes things messier.

    I just started using Excel 2013. I don't know anything about Excel 2016... but the previous version that I used had a "workspace"... all of the files that I opened would open in that workspace and I could arrange them accordingly. A HUGE feature was being able to align the tabs in a manner than I needed to align them.

    I work with about 7 or 8 different Excel files, referencing them at various times throughout my day. This new layout that opens everything in separate windows…

  3. Secondary axis title position

    This is unimportant but should be fixed.. The image under Chart tools/ Design/ Add Chart Element/ Axis Titles / Secondary Vertical shows a horizontal position. It actually does show in the vertical position if chosen.

  5. I would like to suggest adding a new function which is trace or analyse graphs or curves plotted in Excel

    The function should be similar to that of a scientific calculator that can analyse the curves or whatever graphs plotted and trace the points on the graph such as a point on the best fit line.

  7. Financial graphs

    Hello, I am an user of Bloomberg, Tradingview and of course Excel.
    Most of my work involves data analysis and data presentation.
    While there are other software, I mostly use Excel and some things I noticed in financial software that I think would bring value to Excel graphs are:
    - In Format Trendline could you add an Average line option. This will draw an horizontal like that will represent the Average line of the data set. Some options for this could be to use simple average or other type (geometrical, exponential,weighted). Another option could be to specify to calculate Average…

  8. Charts inverted colors

    Could you please add "Inverted colors" in charts please.
    I have Office 2016 and I cannot find this option in any type of charts or at least in most important ones (Column, Line, Area, Bar, Scatter, Histogram). The inverted colors should be customizable of course, not just white color for negative values like in Pivot charts or other Excel versions.

  9. Custom factory layout and maping data to layout

    Excel can give option to mark layout boundaries on factory/place picture and map data on the layout. Similar to piloting data on world map

  11. Filtering and highlighting on Pareto chart

    It should be useful to have the capability to filter on a pareto chart the categories that account for the 80% for example. When there are a lot of data it is not visible. Also it is useful if there are some type of vertical lines where you can highlight the boundaries for A%,B%,C%...

  13. Highlight which theme colors are applied

    currently it is very difficult to see which color set is applied in themes. it highlights a bit but the outline is very thin. can not be seen properly. it should be thick. also it would be better if applied color set stays on top. a search option can also be included to search for a particular set of colors

  15. Export to .pdf as graphic rather than a full page

    When I export an Excel table to a .pdf file, Excel puts the graphic on a full page and exports the whole page. Many times one wants to create a .pdf graphic file not as something standalone to print, but as a graphic for inclusion in another document, . It should be possible to export JUST THE TABLE as a .pdf graphic. Since the Excel graphic itself is a vector graphic, not a raster graphic, this would make it MUCH easier for the user to adjust the final graphic size wherever s/he wants to put it..

  16. It should be easier to copy graphs and then use different (but equivalently structured) data to feed them.

    I don't know if this is a problem just with scattergraphs, but I often have to produce multiple identically-formatted graphs using different columns of the same table showing the relationships between pairs of variables. If I copy the graph and select the new data, this doesn't work. It should.

  17. Allow linked pictures in comments

    You can add pictures to comments via the format comment pane. It would be great to allow linked pictures (i.e. camera tool) images to also be inserted into a comment while still retaining the link to the cell range.

    For dashboarding, this would be great. Hover over a number and the cell comment appears with additional data or even a chart.

  18. Automatic Calculation Icon - Quick Access Toolbar

    I include the Automatic and Manual calculation options in my toolbar. It helps to have a quick way to switch back and forth and lets me know immediately which mode I am in when I grab a file from a colleague. This feature still exists but they are now identical buttons. Can one button have an A and the other an M or something to immediately identify between the two?

  19. Please create a turn off button in "Draw". I cannot turn it off.

    I use the "draw" button, for brief shop drawings with my work, now I cannot turn it off. Please create a full population of tools from start to finish so the end user can manipulate the tools on user end without having to make a gigantic search for it. Stop designing stuff only with the engineers ideas in mind. All software engineers should keep their customers in mind as they design stuff.

  20. Allow the ability to color text, not just the whole cell. This function will allow excel to do what Word does with a table!

    Allow excel to highlight text just as word with a table does! With excel I am doing a literature review for college and to do it in Word, I have to create three documents and stack them next to each other, a real pain in the a$$. With excel, I can fit all authors on one excel, but I cannot color code with highlighter when I have used the source in my final paper, not can I color highlight different talking points. I'm color blind, so the coloring of the text really does nothing for me. PLEASE fix this!!(Excel, not…
