  1. Revert to Office being on device and NOT "Click to run".

I suffer from variable upload and download speeds depending on traffic volumes. It has been the same for over 10 years and a variety of ISP's. Recent conversion to "Click to run" has resulted in serious problems in opening the service and files on One Drive, causing severe interruption to my work.

Is there anyway to download to my device as was the norm up to the recent versions as an option?

  2. Please make pasting from a webpage to Excel work.

When I copy from a webpage it generally fails. I end up pasting to Word (still a bit slow) then I copy from Word to Excel. If I need to paste to a single cell, a direct paste to the formula bar (not the cell) works fine

  3. scale back the resources needed by "click to run service"

Please scale back the compute/disk resources consumed by Office. There is something called "Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" which consumes the great majority of the available disk capacity when I start up my HP laptop. The machine basically locks up for a few minutes and nothing else will respond. This is especially annoying since I installed Office as a local stand-alone install, not as an online service.

  4. Drag and drop from task bar

When right-clicking on short-link in task bar, recently used files are shown. I suggest a drop and drag function for these files (as in Windows 7/Excel 2013)

  5. Allow The Filter to Search All Lines of a worksheet

Love Excel 2016, but find it limited in the way I work....Delighted that worksheets have so many lines.
Frustrated that column filter will only filter about 10,000 lines, why have a great worksheet program that falls short when you need to filter and search columns....I for one need to filter search the entire worksheets. No good at Macros to complicated.
    Please Help.

    Regards Ian.

  6. Aggregates to continue to display in the status bar of two instances of excel when clicking either instance

If Book A and Book B are shown in two Excel processes, then the aggregates will continue to display in the status bar of Book A (and you can show a different set in the status bar of Book B).

The ways to start two processes is:

    • Start > Run > excel /x, open Book A

    • Start > Run > excel /x open Book B

I would like to have this feature added to Excel by just opening two instances of excel instead of having to start two excel processes.

  7. Let me pick the color of Office Top Bars

There are colors that don't show up in a field of other colors. For instance in Excel the "Redo" and "Undo" are blue. I can barely see them in the green Quick Access bar of Excel.

  8. Bring back the ability to have separate instances of Excel, where you can have a macros running on more than one spreadsheet. Give a choice

Bring back the ability to have separate instances of Excel, where you can have a macros running on more than one spreadsheet. Give a choice both in the menu-driven opening of new workbooks, or in VBA

  10. seriously..when are requested features coming?

So many people are requesting features and its like nothing ever gets added after years. It reminds me of Windows 10 Creators update. Please we want more useless stuff no one asked for and ignore actual useful requests. Thanks

  11. Allowing editing of a spreadsheet in browser only (One Drive)

It would be helpful to provide an option in One Drive that only allows the editing of a spreadsheet to be done in the browser. When the other option of downloading the spreadsheet is done, it locks the whole sheet down so others can edit. This is especially needed if large groups are editing/contributing to a spreadsheet.

  12. Stop looping error messages

There should be an option to close out of error messages. When one comes up, there are OK, Cancel, and X buttons. Clicking any of them will open the same message again. The only way to get out of it is to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and close Excel through the task manager.

  13. Improve graphics on external monitor (characters are fuzzy)

Others may have written about this, and I know MS is working on it, but I strongly support your efforts to improving the visual appearance of the Office 365 applications when displaying them on an external monitor.

The look outstanding when displayed on the screen of my laptop, but when I drag applications to my attached external 24" monitor, the characters are all fuzzy . . . not to the point where I can't read them, but they're just not clear.

Please address this as soon as possible.

Thanks, and thanks for the great applications.

  15. Allow color or transparency or contrast of scroll bar slider navigation tool to be changed

Can the color or transparency of scroll bar slider navigation tool be changed? Spreadsheets with many rows make the slider tool very small
In OPTIONS, each of the three (silver, blue, or black) color schemes have same lack of contrast between the scroll area and slider to indicate location in spreadsheet

  17. Indicator on file icon for files on sharepoint that are booked out. (Excel especially, for administrative maintanance.)

The idea is to see which files are locked by online users who are busy working on files (Excel specifically).

This means that there should be an indicator on the file icon in the browser, that works the same as the sync feature (the animated circling arrows that shows a file is in the process of being uploaded/synced).
This will make choosing a file for editing (maintanance) easier using Excel offline.

  18. Ask before performing massive operation on Ctrl+Shft+arrow

We all use Ctrl+Shft+arrow when building out spreadsheets. We all, sometimes, make mistakes and Ctrl+Shft+down to row 1,048,576 and then execute, after which you usually need to force a shutdown.

Excel doesn't ask before performing this very large operation. I'm thinking of something like the dialog box that opens up saying "This operation will affect a large number of cells." That would save us all the once-a-month pain of a finger slip.

  19. Excel Profiling Capability

Provide tools to help find Excel performance bottlenecks. Basic VBA profiling plus Excel internal profiling to the sheet level is needed.

  20. 7.8 MB Workbook takes 100 secs to open

    I'm running:
    HW
Lenovo T550, 16 GB Mem, 500 GB SSD
    Intel Core i5-5300U CPU @ 2.30-2.90 GHz
    Dual Core + HyperThreading ==> 4 CPUs
No a numbercruncher but not too bad either...

    SW
    Win10 x64 (upgraded from Win8.1)
    Excel 2016 (32-bit) 16.0.6001.1073
    German UI

    I got a workbook (100secsToOpenLOyes.xlsx) with ~600 sheets and ~4100 ListObjects.
It takes ~100 sec in avg to open which I consider to be tooooo long.
    File is stored on SSD.
While opening 1 CPU is running at 100%

The corresponding file (100secsToOpenLOno.xlsx) with unlisted ListObjects is, of course, a bit smaller (5.4 MB) and…
