  1. Add a Reporting Ribbon to Excel to consolidate and highlight the amazing capabilities of Power Query and Power Pivot

    Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot and Pivot Tables are amazing tools that will transform the way people build their reports, but only once they know about them!

    Let's SHOUT about how good these things are and how well they work together by putting them onto a single new Ribbon called "Reporting" - something like the attached image.

      • Copy multiple selections into Clipboard

        I've always wanted the option to copy multiple selections to the clipboard. When you paste, you'd be presented with the option of everything on your clipboard, to be able to pick which selection(s) you want to paste.

        • Please, please, PLEASE add double strikethrough to Excel!!!

          Please add double strikethrough to Excel. I've often wished that it was available in Excel as it is in Word. It seems if it's available in Word, it'd be easy enough to add it to Excel.

          Please consider this addition.

          • Expandable & Collapsible Workbooks by Grouped Workbooks

            Workbooks
            It would be great if workbooks could be grouped together so that you can collapse or expand a group of tabs similar to grouping rows. I currently use several tabs in one spreadsheet. It could be 100 workbooks (tabs) or more. They are grouped by color, but if i need to see something, I have to search by scrolling to the right or left and reading the tabs below. Since I am constantly adding tabs, making a table of contents is not as convenient because I would constantly have to change that. This really would be a great new…

            • True Dark Theme for Worksheets

              In Excel, the only way to make your worksheets/reports that you build in Excel a dark theme, is to add a background image.
              On the PowerPivot/Sharepoint server, background images are not supported.

              It would be nice if you could save an Excel sheet with dark background color as a configurable default, so that you don't have to change cell backgrounds (which go away with PowerPivot refresh), and don't have to do a background image (which is incompatible with server refresh/presentation).

              Even outside of server refresh, we find issues on file exchange too.

              • Microsoft forums trucating formulas

                Couldn't find an area relevant to the answers.microsoft forums so I will try here.

                If you paste a long Excel formula into the forums it truncates to ****
                e.g =IF(OR(AY$2={"awt"****N3)))

                A lot of the users are having to post images of the formula to combat this, and most experts know this is a problem, but for new users this may be difficult.

                  • Installing updates

                    When I open Excel in my FULLY PAID Office 365, I sometimes encounter a disruptive message: "We must shut down your software to install an update!".
                    While I understand the need for updates for Office 365, given that it crashes often, I suggest that you give the user A CHOICE!

                    That choice is: A BUTTON that says "Install the update after I sign off from Office 365!"

                    This would annoy people far less, and would result in way more updates actually installed.

                      • When we use Filter for updating data in excel, excel does not have a capability to remember my filter

                        When we use Filter for updating data in excel, excel does not have a capability to remember my filter.
                        Example If I filter the column with Error, Then I update some row, but when i go to the filter, i do not see the keyword with which i filter

                        • Undo Stack Integration with VBA

                          Is now February 2019 - Any chance that VBA Integration with the Undo Stack is on the roadmap or in Development? Workarounds are extremely lengthy (codewise) and complicated.

                          • Return the "copy link to clipboard" button to the File|Info screen to office/excel 365

                            The "copy link to clipboard" button on the File|Info screen that allowed a user to copy a link (path + file) to the clipboard is missing. Whoever took this button please kindly return it. Thank you ever so much!

                            • comment stay near the cell

                              when you open a comment with many lines (high form) it is moved: it does not stay next to the cell.
                              Unable to return to the cell leaving the comment.
                              You must press ESC ESC Arrow LEFT ARROW Right

                              Why comment shape move and not stay near the cell ?

                              • Unhide multiple worksheets at once

                                We can hide several worksheets at once, but we can only show them individually.

                                Although the VBA can solve this issue with some lines of code, but it would be a great improvement if you add this capability to Excel as a build in feature.

                                    I have an old sheet with book titles entered into the A column. I would like to be able to click on the title and know when I entered the book title so that I can know the date I finished the books.

                                    • Don't reset view to first column when clearing filters

                                      Hi All,

                                      When one clears filters (ctrl+shift+L) in Excel, then this also resets your view back to the start of the file (i.e., the first column and first row, A1).

                                      Is it possible to disable this behaviour?

                                      It is rather annoying to work on an Excel file with a lot of columns and have your view reset to the first column every time you clear filters. If you are busy working, lets say at row Z or further, this causes you to have to scroll forward from A to Z every time you clear the filters.

                                      • Add short month name and short day name in Power Query

                                        In Power Query, you can convert a date in year, month, day, first day of the month, day of the week, .... You can also convert a date in month name or in day name.

                                        But there is no option to convert a date with the short name (Jan, Feb, Mar, ...) and the same for the day (Mon, Tue, Wed, ...)

                                        Is it possible to add these options on the ribbon?
