Terms used in the Descriptive analysis output
The descriptive statistics function (Analysis Toolpak) returns the Margin of error based on a selected confidence level. However, the output table presents it as "Confidence level" that is not what the value is the value returned is the Margin of Error. This is just wrong terminology and an easy fix. Please make it right.

BUG: VLOOKUP Confused by Commas in Sheet Names
VLOOKUP treats commas in sheet names as argument separators (attachments 13).
To troubleshoot, I replaced the single quotes delimiting the sheet's name with double quotes. At first sight, the double quotes do away with the confusion (attachment 4), but they are not accepted when attempting to enter the formula (attachment 5).
This seems to be a bug, but I couldn't find a way to report bugs for Excel. The feedback buttons in my Excel are greyed out.
EDIT: The comma used to reference a column in a table (VLOOKUP(A1,Table[[#All],[Column]],1,FALSE)) seems to not confuse VLOOKUP at all.

Outliers Function for Office 365 Excel Desktop App
I do not understand why Excel Desktop or Web does not have a function to identify and flag Outliers (statistical unusually high or low data values) in a column of data? Outliers in data skew any data analysis results whether we are talking about simple data visualization or more advanced regression and other modeling. For example, it could be a spreadsheet function where you enter "=Outlier" in a cell and then select range of data. Or, it could show up in the list of Excel Functions under the Formulas toolbar tab at the top of Excel. Or, it…

An MROUNDUP and MROUNDDOWN feature
MROUND rounds to the nearest specified multiple.
ROUNDUP and ROUNDDOWN allows to choose whether you round to the nearest decimal place or to the higher or lower number.
It would be great to combine these with an MROUNDUP or MROUNDDOWN feature.2 votes

The ability to traverse through a formula i.e. move between cells and tabs when selecting individual elements of the formula.
There's a company called BPM which has a Traverse feature. When you select the feature and click on the individual elements of a formula, the feature takes the user to the location of the element, whether it's in the same sheet or a different sheet, or workbook, i.e. t will open up the tab and go to the cell refernce.
This is extremely helpful for complex formulas as it allows the user to navigate directly to each element of the formula string without having to find source references across multiple worksheets and workbooks.2 votes
Include historical Price/Earnings ratio and Price/Book ratio as parameters in the STOCKHISTORY function.
Include historical P/E and P/B information in the STOCKHISTORY function. e.g. property1=close, property2=open, ... , property6=P/Eratio, property7=P/Bratio.

make cell formula language independent
The cell() formula is nice, but it is a real problem that the criteria when using the formula is not language independent. to my knowledge, this is the only formula in excel (or at least one of very few) that doesn't work as intendend when opened is excel with another language :(

Geography Type Properties Should Return Other Geography Type Fields
When a cell is of a Geography type, some of its properties should also be Geography types when references by a formula. For example, a cell with the a country geography type should return a geography type when referencing its capital by formula. Conversely, referencing a city's country by formula should also return a geography type (of the country)

Fix filter in Office 365 (behaves differently to Officer 2016 + prior)
See attached chat session.
In office 2016, when you click Data + Filter from within a workbook, Excel takes you automatically to the top row of the spreadsheet where the filters are.
In Office 365, you need to manually scroll back to the top of the workbook.

Change the Excel formula bar to the one from Power BI Desktop
Change the formula bar for advanced users as well as for beginners. better reading of functions makes work easier for everyone.
Indent the code, view the line (s) where there is an error, quickly see the syntax of a function and a bar that adapts depending on the length of the code that is entered.7 votes
Expanded symbol table
I am creating a tutorial for myself from physics texts using Excel but am not using the Equations feature. I am using symbols that approximate the physics symbol, but it would be nice to be able to import a symbol/font with standard physics symbols. For example: rhat, uhat, nhat, xhat are unit vector symbols with a letter and a ^ over the letter; fields and forces are E or F with a right vector arrow above them; of course all the greek letters. It would be nice to see all these symbols in a font or dedicated symbol table, whether…

I'm an investor and I'd like to fool around with the stockhistory function. How do get a hold of it? tejacobs@optonline.net
No idea. Just joined Office Insider, and as an investor, want to try out the STOCKHISTORY function. Who do I see to get it turned on? I realize its in Beta and may change its complexion but I'll take my chances.
