  3. Uppercase/Lowercase Cell Formatting

    It would be awesome if you could format a cell to only return uppercase or lowercase or proper content. It was also be great if this was a conditional formatting option as well.

  4. Allow Validation Lists to work with Freeze Panes when it is the border column

    When a column is assigned as a validation list where the dropdown arrow appears to the right of the column, if this column is used as the border of your freeze pane, once you scroll the right side away from the Home position, the arrow no longer displays for the dropdown. Users must return tot the home position to change the dropdown value.

  5. cannot locate a cell that is circular referenced so as to enab

    devise a way to find a circular referenced cell so as to enable deleting of one or both cells or at lease closing the workbook

  6. Fix printing text-heavy excel sheets with non-monospace fonts

    Currently if you are using a non-monospace font, when you print a text-heavy excel document, the row heights are different after printing than what you see on screen. This makes it difficult if it's a professional document and you need all rows to be uniform and not have a lot of empty space everywhere. Is there any way to fix this row-height issue so that when you're using a standard font like Arial or Calibri, that this doesn't happen? Thank you!

  7. Incorporate ISO number formatting and scientific units as strings, provide for international format phone numbers.

    The ISO, recommended format for larger numbers is the period for the decimal point and a space between a 3-digit group and another digit or more. An illustration is “1 234.456 7” and commas are not used. However, as Word 2010 defaults to ¼ Em space, this is what is used in the second space example as others display larger. When binary or hexadecimal are used, the digits are in groups of 4 with no-break space. Word uses CTRL-LSHIFT-SPACE to enter the no-break Em space character, the first in the example.   9. Add horizontal alignment to the Excel 2019 ‘Format Axis’ text options (‘Text Box’)

    When one creates a horizontal bar chart from a data table, there are limited options to format the axis text box. One would think that by highlighting the label area text box and clicking on the alignment options, one could left-justify the text … nothing seems to work.

    I verified with Microsoft (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/59141/excel-2019-hw-does-one-left-justify-the-text-in-an.html) that only a default behavior is possible.

    Specifically, please add the ability to left-justify (or right-justify) the text. The default Excel behavior vs. the desired Excel formatting option is illustrated in the URL above (and in the attached document).

  10. Save font style and size for new documents

    Once a user has created a Font and Size they want, Excel will have a button to save that font and size for further new documents.

  11. Add Set as Default to Page Setup

    Please add Set as Default buttons to Page Setup in all Applications, especially Excel. This will save clicks for all users, but especially for those who frequently create spreadsheets for others and need to pre-set options such as show grid lines, fit to, margins, row headers to show, etc. For our team, this is hundreds of files/thousands of clicks each year.

  13. Deleting Styles in Bulk

    It would be good to have the ability to multi-select styles so that they can be deleted in bulk.

    Currently there are 2 ways to delete styles: (1) manually click the drop down, right click 1 style at a time, and click delete.(2) run a macro that will delete them in bulk, but takes away your ability to distinguinsh which you'd like to keep around.

    When bringing data together from external sources, it often becomes a problem with bringing in many unwanted custom styles. When that happens, it can bog down the functionality of the spreadsheet. It's important to keep…

  16. Provide a military time format.

    Excel currently allows formatting times in the format of 13:30. For many professions (military, law enforcement, medical, and aviation), the proper format is 1330. This should be easy to accomplish by just eliminating the colon. I checked in other languages, but could not find that option.

  17. The perfect square

    I use Excel for planning architectural features in landscapes. To do this, I need to format row heights and column widths to make perfect squares. However, in your choices of shapes, I cannot choose a perfect square that allows me to size it as I wish while keeping all sides equal. Having this capability will let me choose row heights and column widths (of my choice) to match the design I'm working on.

  18. Page Setup - Header/Footer - combined feature requests

    This idea combines a host of ideas which all call for similar functionality. The individual postings score minimal votes but together they add to 75 votes. I raise this to combine the feature requests, so that it gets prominence as I would dearly like to see this addressed.

    1. include variables based on a cell reference
    2. more than one Picture and Shapes

  19. It would be helpful to move have the ability to move currency symbols in the format cells/accounting/symbol list.

    The idea is to make the list of currency symbols movable in order of use. For example I work with dollars, euros and Thai Baht. When I need to format the money is the desired currency I have to use format cells, accounting, then search for the symbol. If these symbols were at the top of the list (user defined) then it would save me a lot of time. Thank you.

  20. Add a template to permit printing checks

    An extremely useful tool would be a template which would allow printing checks. The spread sheet should contain date, check number, name, amount (with spelled out amount formatted to proper check space), Memo. This could also create a market for printable checks with appropriate bank and account information. Printable checks are already available for programs such as Banktivity and Quicken, and it may be possible to adapt them to Excel.
