  1. Create a 2 digit month and 4 digit year format. 08/22 shows as Aug 22, rather than August 2022. After 2031 it won't be an issue.

  2. Unhide "all hidden rows"

    Add a "unhide all hidden rows" within a work sheet. If you have over 1000 rows and 300 of those are hidden, it is time consuming to try and double click or drag down. Under formatting, you have an option to unhide rows but it does not unhide all.

  3. Phone number formatting

    There should be a drop-down choice in formats the provide a formatting especially for phone numbers that can cope with +61 without trying to treat it as an equation and leaves the leading zero as is. Also you can click and dial from there if you have a phone function on you PC like cisco jabber.

    formatting should assume your number is in the same country as your timezone. It should offer some choice of format i.e. +61 456 654 456 vs 0456 654 456.

  4. Add horizontal alignment to the Excel 2019 ‘Format Axis’ text options (‘Text Box’)

    When one creates a horizontal bar chart from a data table, there are limited options to format the axis text box. One would think that by highlighting the label area text box and clicking on the alignment options, one could left-justify the text … nothing seems to work.

    I verified with Microsoft (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/59141/excel-2019-hw-does-one-left-justify-the-text-in-an.html) that only a default behavior is possible.

    Specifically, please add the ability to left-justify (or right-justify) the text. The default Excel behavior vs. the desired Excel formatting option is illustrated in the URL above (and in the attached document).

  5. Tab button to format formulas instead of next cell

    Can't we have the option to use switch the function of the Tab button from the settings?

    Then add the functionally to add indentation in formulas.
    It would be easier to use it to format formulas and create spaces like other programming languages. Makes big formulas easier to read.

  6. The subtraction of one date from another should not be automatically formatted as a date because the result is a number of days.

    The subtraction of one date from another results in a number of days. As such, it should not be automatically formatted as a date. Even when the formula involves dates, subtraction between them is not so.

    Like in MS Word we can change the sentence to upper case or lower case. Similarly this feature should be included in excel instead of function in a different cell. becuase if we do not want to keep the same text in another cell. instead of using a temporary solution like hiding that row or column or copy pasting, we should be able to change the case of text using toolbar.

  9. Conditional formats that are locked and do not change when copy/ cut and paste actions are performed.

    Today I have conditional formats with formula. A copy and past action which is done often, will mess up the formatting. It tries to compensate for the change. However, it is rare that it gets the change correct. Instead the conditional formats double, triple or have errors in them. I want to have the ability to set a conditional format and have it static and not change until I decide to change it. e.g. =AND($E9<>0,$E10=0) with applies to: =$B:$I,$K:$M

  11. Dynamic Arrays, Spill range format

    When a Spill range changes (eg due to the source data changing) it would be nice if any Formatting that is applied to the Spill Formula Cell is also applied to the entire Spill Range.

  13. Allow paragraph formatting in text boxes

    I would like to be able to add basic numbering or bullet point formatting in text boxes and have the follow-on text on second and subsequent lines indented as they are in Word and PowerPoint. In PPT, text boxes have a Word-style ruler bar: it would be good if this could be carried over to text boxes in all the apps.

  14. Could you give people the option of turning off autoformatting of dates when typing ranges such as 1-10 or fractions like 1/2?

    When typing a range of numbers such as 1-10, Excel automatically interprets this input as January 10. That's fine for people who type a lot of dates, but can be quite annoying if that's not what a person is trying to type. Could you please implement an option for someone to turn this off if they wish?

    You need to be able to adjust the zero location on the ruler. It can't be that hard... If you want to scale something off a drawing, you can't change the reference zero on the ruler. It just needs a slide.

  16. See Case #1010777698. Auto update for MS Excel caused my older version Excel spreadsheets to lose their formatting (column spacing/color)

    I've been told by MS technical support that auto update to Excel is what caused my Excel files to lose their formatting, e.g., the column spacing reverted to standard spacing and all coloring was lost. The spreadsheets didn't look anything like they did before the auto update. I need to know if there is some other way that I can update my Excel program in the future without having a negative impact to my formatting.

  18. Hide formulas with workbook password protection.

    On the excel view tab users can toggle on and off the formula bar. Fair enough, but it defeats the purpose of hiding the bar if it can be easily toggled back on. Can we take functionality a step further? If the workbook is password protected users are unable to view embedded formulas. Formulas still function but only displays results. Attempting to create a VBA process to carry out this preference is beyond my programming capabilities.

  20. Entering Dates after 2030

    I'm entering dates going out to 2032, and when I enter dates like 10/1/32, Excel is changing the date to 1932. Excel should be defaulting to 2032 like it does for dates in the 2020's.
