  1. Pick color in Excel Like at Powerpoint

    In Powerpoint there is a color picker tool to bring custom colors to the pallete.

    Many times we need to do it using PowerPoint to get the RGB combination to be used in Excel.

    Could you replicate this color picker into Excel in the same way it exists in PowerPoint?

  2. Let add setting to switch gridlines on/off

    Now we can do that for current worksheet only. These days it's quite desirable to have an option to keep greedlines off on permanent basis for each new workbook. That could be done using template or by changing/adding registry key https://www.quora.com/What-are-some-ways-of-removing-gridlines-in-Excel-2007.
    That will be much more suitable if we have such option in Advanced section of Options.

  3. Page Setup - Header/Footer - combined feature requests

    This idea combines a host of ideas which all call for similar functionality. The individual postings score minimal votes but together they add to 75 votes. I raise this to combine the feature requests, so that it gets prominence as I would dearly like to see this addressed.

    Features for the Header / Footer:
    1. include variables based on a cell reference
    2. more than one Picture and Shapes
    3. Print and save dates
    4. Number of pages of the sheet and of the workbook
    5. Add file properties (quick parts in Word)
    6. Option for the header/footer on the…

  4. sheet tabs

    currently the amount of characters allowed per tab is 31 maximium. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH. please make an option to extend the amount to at least 100. If you do this you are good. If you don't you are bad. It is that simple.

  5. Formatting duplicate values through a slash / Форматирование повторяющихся значений через слэш

    Everything is visible in the screenshot.
    The text format of the cells is used so that there are no conversions of numbers to date, while formatting duplicate values is worth filling in red. According to the “opinion” of MS Excel, the numbers 1/1 and 1/20 are the same, 1/2 and 2/20 are the same, etc., the relationship is direct.
    This error exists only with the numbers of the series 1 / X and X / 20, [1 <X <12], X is an integer.
    If my record is not clear to someone, then this is how pairs of "repeating" values…

  6. Make the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager window adjustable

    Can the window on the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager be able to be adjusted so I can see more of my rules?

  7. Allow conditional formatting for spilled array formulas

    I use an array formula (e.g. RANDARRAY) to insert some numbers. The size of this array may vary, as the array formula is based on cells with values, which may vary.
    In the spilled array I want to highlight some values using conditional formatting. It would be useful, if the conditional formatting could be based on the size of the array, so that the area the conditional formatting applies to shrinks and grows with the size of the array.

  9. Conditional Formatting Labels

    When you add a Conditional Format via formula, the dialog box currently contains the sections "Rule", "Format", "Applies To", and "Stop If True". Another section should be added called "Label," a text input box

    If I have 20 conditional format formulas applied to one cell, I would have to backtrack each formula to remember what each does.

    By including a "Label" section, user can input "this formula italicizes text in cell if...(insert met condition)"

  10. Make Scientific values a background feature or at least, add the option to disable it. Please.

    Large Numbers are used in for documentation and inventory when using excel. The scientific notation feature causes confusion and frustration. Can you put an option to disable the scientific notation feature in the Options menu, for those who use excel for inventory and documentation.

  11. Create a 2 digit month and 4 digit year format. 08/22 shows as Aug 22, rather than August 2022. After 2031 it won't be an issue.

  12. Unhide "all hidden rows"

    Add a "unhide all hidden rows" within a work sheet. If you have over 1000 rows and 300 of those are hidden, it is time consuming to try and double click or drag down. Under formatting, you have an option to unhide rows but it does not unhide all.

  13. Phone number formatting

    There should be a drop-down choice in formats the provide a formatting especially for phone numbers that can cope with +61 without trying to treat it as an equation and leaves the leading zero as is. Also you can click and dial from there if you have a phone function on you PC like cisco jabber.

    formatting should assume your number is in the same country as your timezone. It should offer some choice of format i.e. +61 456 654 456 vs 0456 654 456.

  14. Tab button to format formulas instead of next cell

    Can't we have the option to use switch the function of the Tab button from the settings?

    Then add the functionally to add indentation in formulas.
    It would be easier to use it to format formulas and create spaces like other programming languages. Makes big formulas easier to read.

  15. The subtraction of one date from another should not be automatically formatted as a date because the result is a number of days.

    The subtraction of one date from another results in a number of days. As such, it should not be automatically formatted as a date. Even when the formula involves dates, subtraction between them is not so.

  17. Conditional formats that are locked and do not change when copy/ cut and paste actions are performed.

    Today I have conditional formats with formula. A copy and past action which is done often, will mess up the formatting. It tries to compensate for the change. However, it is rare that it gets the change correct. Instead the conditional formats double, triple or have errors in them. I want to have the ability to set a conditional format and have it static and not change until I decide to change it. e.g. =AND($E9<>0,$E10=0) with applies to: =$B:$I,$K:$M

    When I copy and paste (and any type of paste) the formula and cells affected are changed so that the format…

  18. Could you give people the option of turning off autoformatting of dates when typing ranges such as 1-10 or fractions like 1/2?

    When typing a range of numbers such as 1-10, Excel automatically interprets this input as January 10. That's fine for people who type a lot of dates, but can be quite annoying if that's not what a person is trying to type. Could you please implement an option for someone to turn this off if they wish?

  19. Entering Dates after 2030

    I'm entering dates going out to 2032, and when I enter dates like 10/1/32, Excel is changing the date to 1932. Excel should be defaulting to 2032 like it does for dates in the 2020's.

  20. Make URLs automatically turn into clickable hyperlinks

    We often export from Power BI into Excel, and the URLs are not automatically clickable hyperlinks. Please make this data automatically hyperlinks.
