  1. open excel workbooks in same location

Please Please learn how to open workbooks on the same place on the screen as they were kept and close. It drives me nuts how easy it is and you don't have this function. ugh!

  3. Add CGM graffic file support

I am still missing CGM import filter like at office 2013. I have believed MS Office 2019 will solve that. No other vector format are available to export from Siemens to MS Office to create documentation with vector quality of inserted drawings.

  4. SAVING

I think the name of file in the excel ribbon should be editable and saved automatically by just clicking the name changing the name and once you are through the file is saved automatically

  8. Allow the user to create a named "checkpoint" version of the file.

Have a File / Save Checkpoint command, that forces a version save at the current point, and allow the user to optionally name it (in as easy a way as possible).

  10. Auto Save Option to change rev of file when opening

When a file is opened with autosave, alert the user and recommend to save the file with a revision name or a new name. In many cases, users open files to use them as templates and do not intend to change the original file. IF the file is not on sharepoint, you cannot go back to the previous version and you loose the original file. I instructed my staff to try to do save as or copy as right when they open a file, but it is hard to remember to do that. And of course, we want the auto…

  11. When i click "save as", maybe i could just save to a location such as desktop. you know, like it used to be...nice and simple.

just bring back the old "save as" dialog. or give me the choice to have it back. i DO PAY for this software after all.
i really, REALLY, DO NOT WANT the new save page mess.

  12. CORRECTLY EXPORT HYPERLINKS when saving to PDF

We need EXCEL to be able to CORRECTLY EXPORT HYPERLINKS when saving to a PDF from Excel!

I tried several ways to do this currently, but it could not be accomplished without a hack using MS WORD.

I am doing something simple like creating hyperlinks using the formula Hyperlink(A1, A2) to create a simple hyperlink to a website, and give a "friendly name".

It works just as expected, except when you want to save the spreadsheet to PDF; then the links won't work.

But interestingly, if I copy the data and paste it into MS WORD, then I can save…

  13. Recent Files listing button reset link path

As the user opens excel there is a list of recent files opened with excel. At the end of each listing near the pin/unpin we could have a reset button where the user can set a new path after the user has changed the paths and broken the recent files listing link(s).

  14. FILE | OPEN menu and screen

Just got updated and the pinned items on the File|Open screen got bigger causing the non-pinned items to shove off the screen.

Here's the thing: There's a whole right half of that screen that is not used for anything. Nothing.

I'd like the pinned items to display to the right and non-pinned MRU list type items to display to the left. So File and its weird submenu, a couple inches non-pinned half the remainder, pinned the other half of the remainder.

Or switch pinned and non-pinned, though I'd prefer the above.

But not the world of scroll six feet down…

  15. Filename chang notification

As office is more integrated into one drive and SharePoint folders, if we open a file from the list of old opened files in Excel, even if file name has been changed, the file will open without a notification.
This new feature needs to send a notification to the user that the file name has been changed to avoid confusion looking for files in folder.

  17. Allow Currently Open Files to be Pinned

To pin a file, right clicking on the taskbar icon shows recently opened files. These can moved to the Pinned files section by moving to the recently used file, and selecting the pin icon.

However, a currently opened file cannot be pinned until the file has been closed. Why the extra step.

I would prefer to be able to pin any file that is recent or current. Since all current files will become recent files as soon as they are closed, I believe the category Recently Used Files should actually include Recently Used and Currently Opened Files.

    If Currently Opened…

  18. Colour-coded Recent files

I have both personal files and work files on my Open > Recent Files list. I would like to be able to colour-code them so that they are easier to distinguish, or even Categorise them with headings so that I can see the difference.

This would be great for all Microsoft Apps (Word, Project, Excel, etc)

  19. In File menu, add an option to 'Save & Close' in one step.

In File menu, add an option to 'Save & Close' with one click. Currently, one has to either:

Click on 'Save', then click on 'Close', OR

Click on 'Close', and then answer the question "Do you want to save the changes etc etc." with another click.

With the option to 'Save & Close', this would be done with one initial click.

Multiplied by a million files being 'Save(d)' and 'Close(d)' around the world every day, that's a lot of clicks!

  20. Save As Feature that saves Each Tab as individual CSV

As a user who needs to often merge multiple tables into new tables that feed Systems, I would like to quickly export the merged Table in my excel file to a CSV. Right now I have to copy the table and put it into a new Single Tab excel file. The manual process has often resulted in subtle errors in the copied file. IF I could save the tabs from a Multi TAB excel file into individual CSV files (with the file name as tab name) this would be a great quality improvement for my team.
