  1. Fix the "There's a problem with the clipboard" issue

    The issue with "There's a problem with the clipboard..." while copy and pasting is still as issue. I was using Office 2010 and there was no problem. I am now using Office 365 and this issue is prevalent. It manifests itself when pasting a value from a cell containing a formula and disappears when disabling Live Preview. I was able to copy and paste "normal" cell contents fine before the error message appears so the official response of "another program has locked the clipboard" doesn't really hold up. It looks more like Excel has locked the clipboard from itself.

      • Multipe-argument Excel formulas with commas invalid

        On certain installations of Excel, formulas containing multiple arguments (eg. `AND`) are considered invalid.

        These formulas work properly when opened in other applications (LibreOffice, OpenOffice, Google Sheets), but on some setups experience errors. To be clear, this issue isn't consistently replicatable across systems, and only sometimes appears.

        The first attached image shows an example of a simple failing formula (`=AND(TRUE,TRUE)`).

        One similarity of formulas that have this error are that they all have a comma, since they require multiple arguments. Formulas containing a string literal with a comma appear to correctly include the comma as part of the string, but…

        • When sorting a range containing a SUMIFS column, ensure that the criteria1..n remain in the correct row

          When sorting a range containing a SUMIFS column, and the data to be summed is on another worksheet, the references within the formula go haywire.

          • Save a file in a local folder first, and then synchronize to OneDrive as long as needed.

            I have an xlsm file on a local folder, synchronized with Onedrive business. It seems that quite often (sometimes twice a day) it may brake a file, so it cannot be saved (Excel doen't responce for infinite time).

            At the same time autosaving file, placed in a folder synchronized with OD, takes more than 10 seconds, according to the message in Title of Excel window. So it's almost impossible to catch a moment when a file cannot be saved - I cannot wait every time to the end of saving process.

            So it would be great to save a file…

            • Embedded object error

              Hello,

              I am having problems with embedded excel spreadsheets in Microsoft Word. I reported this error before to Microsoft. The reference is HS-168037. The embedded object jumps off of the screen when you try to open it in a word document. The last update seemed to help somewhat but I was wondering if it will be fully corrected.

              Thank you,

              John

              • drag cell error

                I’ve been having some recurring problems with Excel over the past few months and recently discovered that it’s not just me. I’m wondering if you’ve heard anything about these and if there might be an update coming soon that’ll fix these glitches.

                One common error occurs when I try to drag (move) information from one cell to another. The data will move, but I get the below message every time. This doesn’t stop me from getting the work done, but it does slow me down significantly and is really annoying.

                The pop-up title is Microsoft Excel and the message is,…

                  • Fix inlined member calls, on user objects on 64-bit VBA

                    In 64-bit VBA hosts, inlined member calls on user objects don't work like on 32-bit VBA hosts.

                    Given a UserClass with a getter/setter and a Class_Terminate handler (even it is empty).
                    And in a TestModule a factory procedure returning an instance of this class and also setting the setter.

                    When I now use this procedure and inline check the value of the getter like in the following sample, it results in a different behaviour compared to 32-bit VBA:

                    If CreateUserClass(True).TheValue Then

                    Please take a look in the attached text file for a complete sample.

                    Regards,
                    Axel

                    • [BUG] Undesired change of the calculation formula during sequence calculation

                      [BUG]
                      Undesired change of the calculation formula in sequence

                      [Version]
                      version 2016, version 97, or maybe all versions
                      Tested with different documents at different machines.

                      [Example]
                      In the following calculations:
                      R1C1 =-1.000000000000000
                      R2C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.9000000000000000
                      R3C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.8000000000000000
                      R4C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.7000000000000000
                      R5C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.6000000000000000
                      R6C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.5000000000000000
                      R7C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.4000000000000000
                      R8C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.3000000000000000
                      R9C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.2000000000000000
                      R10C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-0.1000000000000000
                      R11C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =-1.4E-16 <-- Wrong !
                      R12C1=R[-1]C+0.1 =0.1000000000000000
                      ...

                      But: RxCx =-0.1+0.1 =0 <-- correct !!!

                      (It is known that the calculation error (e.g. -1.4E-16) from the decimal-binary exchange with limited bits will be significant when the result comes to "0". But this is not the point here!)

                      Here the point…

                      • There is a bug in Excel. Excel is not adding numbers in a column correctly.

                        See columns C and E of attached file. Simple sums mis-added by Excel! Not sure whether formatting of cell contents is affecting ability to Excel to see the value or whether whole file is somehow corrupted. But I'm not getting a "corrupted file" message or any error message. I'm just getting math errors by excel. This should not be happening.

                                    • Make autorange of axis bound not default to zero

                                      It's such a joke that people have been ******** about this for at least a decade:

                                      https://superuser.com/questions/42455/excel-automatic-axis-scale-completely-inappropriate-for-data

                                      Another joke is the fact that if the dataset is too large you can't make a combo graph.

                                      • Pull Current Stock Prices and Historical Data Into Excel

                                        I am using Windows Office 365 and everything appears to set up just fine. I put in a column of stock symbols and convert them. Then what I want returned is the closing price and % change. When I enter PRICE and %Change from the drop down box values come in just fine, however they appear to be approximately 5% low compared to the values returned by the MSN MONEY or YAHOO. Any ideas?

                                        • Update the Ribbon documentation.

                                          At the web page https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/uxguide/cmd-ribbons, it refers to the Application Button which hasn't been used in years. But, the page is dated May 2018. This was only used from 2007 to 2010. It was removed in Office 2010.
