  1. Keep last size of Filter drop-down menu

    You should consider a way to keep the last size user set for the Filter drop-down menu - it's quite annoying having to resize it every time you open it to see more items or longer names - even if you opened the same filter for the same column repeatedly before.

  2. Marking values presented more that once in filter window

    While working with purchase specifications, the same positions in differens rows often appear with different quantities in each row which should be summed up for sending a request. It would be very convenient to have values corresponding with more then one rows marked by font, color, etc. in filter window…

  3. Allow me to copy mutiple worksheets that contain a table

    Excel will currently not let you copy more than one worksheet at a time if any of them contain a table. This needs to be allowed.

  5. Excel new Feature Request - adding new xlNotFilterValues enum to AutoFilter

    Recently, an user ask me to add a filter with a criteria that is equivalent to filter all values that are NOT in the list.

    In Excel, the only Operator enum that I can use for AutoFilter method is xlFilterValues.

    In this case, criteria must contains a list of values in a String array. I have developed some VBA code that extract in a Collection all possible distinct values that a column can contains, that remove not acceptable values and that save all these values in an array that I pass to AutoFilter(xlFilterValues) method.   6. primary key for rows in a table

    I'd love to have an option in a table to add an ID (record counter) field. No formulas or vba just a system generated unique number for each new row in a table. Automatic timestamp would be great too! vba could do this but making it a built-in feature would be helpful for those who want to keep it simple.

  7. Horizontal filtering

    ONE VERY USEFUL feature is still lacking: "HORIZONTAL FILTERING" - i.e. ability to filter, hide, sort, ONLY COLUMS which fulfil certain criteria.
    Grouping works both for columns and rows...
    Hiding works both for columns and rows...
    Filtering works only for columns - maybe it is time to go from 1D to 2D?

  8. Resize Table by double-click

    Something, you have to resize the area of your table when you manually import or delete data in a Table.

    Currently, you have 2 options to resize your Table:
    - With the button Resize Table
    - By drag and drop of the delimiter of the Table (it looks like a triangle) to adjust to the size of the data

    My idea is to double-click on this Table delimiter to adjust automatically to the area of the data (rows and columns). This means that the table would automatically extend or contract to include new data or exclude empty rows/columns.

  9. When I use the filter function, I would like "Blank" to be on the top, rather than the bottom of the filter window.

  10. Highlight selected filter in autofilter

    When a filter is applied to a spreadsheet, the line number display changes to blue, to indicate that only a subset is displayed. It would be helpful to also change the colour of the filter button (downward arrow) for the column(s) that have an active filter.

    The icon on the button changes from a downward arrow to a funnel symbol, but that is not very well visible on a small display. The two symbols have similar shapes. It would be helpful to also change the colour to blue, same as for the remaining rows.

  12. Enable mouse scroll after opening Filter drop down menu

    Session: Enable filter on a large amount of data. Select drop down menu (presumes that the entries in the drop down menu require scrolling to view). Mouse wheel scroll. Nothing happens (FAIL).

    Expectation: After opening filter drop down menu, the application should be aware of mouse location and enable scrolling immediately.

    Note: User can click inside the menu (carefully as to not select something, or select then deselect), and then mouse wheel scroll functions. It should be smarter.

  13. Add a Reverse Selection option

    Often I apply a filter for say 10 of the 25 items to analyse.
    The next thing I want to do is filter for the not yet filtered items (so the other 15 out of 25 items).
    Now I have to do this manually.
    I really like the Reverse Selection option (like in Windows Explorer) to be added to Excel.
    In the attached file I added a screendump of Windows Explorer with this option but this is in Dutch. I think in English the commands are Select All, Select Nothing and Reverse Selection.

  14. Filtering

    I work extensively in Excel, and run across a couple of things that I believe would be better served if they were rearranged.

    1) Filters:

    A. My primary idea for this is to move the “Blanks” check box to the top of the list. I often wish to filter only the blanks, and find it a little aggravating to have to scroll to the bottom of the list to select this.

    B. The ability to filter non-adjacent columns.

    C. The ability to create a custom filter that could include multiple columns of data simultaneously.

  15. Allow the naming of multiple sort criteria

    I often need to look at my data a couple of different ways. To do this I'm forced to re-enter the sort criteria for each way. It would be great if I could define the sort criteria and save it with a title. When opening the sort dialog I could select one of the saved sorts rather than defining the sort rules from scratch.

    This would also address the issue where the sort criteria spuriously comes up empty when I select certain rows but not others.

  16. other languges then english

    I use hebrew as a second language. and when i try to auto fill, excel doesn't understand to auto fill hebrew alphabet, months, days of week etc. i guess that the same problem applies to users of other second languages.
    it would be a great idea for excel to improve that. especially for right to left languages where its very important

  17. Table names to show up in alphabetic order in Name Box

    The Name Box is really useful for navigating around spreadsheets but Table Names show up at the bottom of the list (if there are Range Names) and also appear in the order they are created rather than in alphabetic order. Not that helpful. Please include Table Names in the list in alphabetic order.

  18. Ability to r-organize pinned Excel files on the taskbar

    Excel is pinned to my taskbar...I would like to re-organize any Excel file that I have also pinned to the taskbar in alphabetical order.

  19. Dynamic headings or additional header rows in tables

    I believe that table column headings should be dynamic (i.e. value determined by a formula), and if that's not possible, then we should at least be able to specify an arbitrary number of dynamic "subheadings". There are times that you have non-heading information that you want to put at the top of a table without having it as part of the heading. Examples include small notes or units.

  20. Bring Sheet View to the desktop app for files saved online

    Most people in my org who filter an Excel spreadsheet saved to SharePoint or OneDrive don't use Excel Online as it is not as feature rich as the desktop app. Sheet View avoids the problem Auto Save presents when filtering for other users collaborating at the time or opening it fresh with those filters auto saved. However, Sheet View is only available on the Online version of Excel currently https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/excel-blog/sheet-view-is-generally-available/ba-p/1032576.
    Can you please also bring this feature to the desktop app?
