  1. Translate XLOOKUP and XMATCH to PROCX and CORRESPX in Portuguese

That's it: PROCX and CORRESPX in Portuguese versions of Excel to keep the same standard of the other functions.

  2. Add an If_NA optional sixth argument to XLOOKUP

The new XLOOKUP function introduced on August 28 2019 is awesome - exact match by default, the ability to return several columns at once, and search from bottom of data. But one thing would make it better - an optional sixth If_NA argument to provide an answer in case nothing is found.
One of the benefits of XLOOKUP is to eliminate the need to nest MATCH inside of INDEX. If you are trying to reduce the number of functions this would be a low-impact way of eliminating nesting XLOOKUP inside of IFNA.
For me, the main argument is that the…

Thanks for the suggestions folks! We will be adding [if_not_found] as the 6th argument to XLOOKUP. The thinking is as follows:

    • It’s a reasonably common use case
    • The ISNA XLOOKUP approach cannot distinguish a “not found” from a #N/A returned from a valid match.

  3. "Excel found a problem with one or more formula references" - Please tell me where!

One of my least favorite messages that Excel provides is:

"Excel found a problem with one or more formula references in this worksheet. Check that the cell references, range names, defined names, and links to other workbooks in your formulas are all correct."

But I can never find the bad references. It's usually buried somewhere very deep, in a chart series formula, or in a name definition, or who knows where else.

If Excel finds a problem, please Excel, tell us where it is.

  4. Here’s an idea – RESPOND TO OUR COMMENTS! PROVIDE AN UPDATE!

It has been nearly a year since an admin provided an update on the idea, “Restore MDI file handling (open all files in one window); Kill SDI (each spreadsheet opens in a seperate window)”

Please provide an update. Are you still accepting votes and considering restoration of MDI? Or, should we start looking for alternative products and pirate software to return to a more effective Excel version?

    Again, here are the issues:

    1. Stability
    * I experience ~3X Excel crashes in 2016 (SDI) as compared to 2010 (MDI)
    * Microsoft claims Excel is more stable, but my experience is the…

  5. Add a MONTHDIF function

The formula should work like the YEARFRAC function. It should calculate partial months on either end of the dates. So starting 1/15/20 should calculate as 16/31 days or 0.516.. months, and ending at 6/5/20 should calculate as 25/30 day or 0.8333.. months. Currently, I have to use a ridiculously long formula to achieve this.

  6. [Excel Currency Conversion Function] add Tezos XTZ (Cryptocurrency)

Please add support for Tezos in this function.
Tezos is very popular and provides formal verification for Smart-Contracts, on-chain-Governance and it is the first Blockchain which is amendable (without the need of so called "Hardforks"). Ticker symbol is $XTZ.

  8. Release XLOOKUP to the world!

Why only release to 15 percent of users?! Let the world have XLOOKUP and XMATCH now()!

  9. Getting Data from another excel file copies the cell format and style

I want to have a separate excel sheet that can get an updated data from another worksheet and also follows the cell format and style.

I can only get an updated data but it won't follow the cell format and style

If I do a copy/paste, I can get the data with the format and style but it won't update any data if there are changes from the other workbook

  10. Eliminate the new "Save your changes to this file?" dialog box

In the last week, whenever I close down a new Excel file without saving it, a new dialog box appears asking "Save changes to this file?". Whereas previously I could use keyboard shortcuts to immediately close down a file (Ctrl-F4, N), this no longer works. Instead, the new box interprets the "N" keypress as something to be entered into the "File Name" text field.

  11. When copying tabs, somtimes we have to cycle through 100s of "Yes" or "No" to the "Name already exists warning" Can we add Yes to All option

This is a major productivity killer for power users such as finance teams, and current UX does not help exit this state efficiently.

Good news! We have released a few fixes to Insiders to address this issue. If you are on Insiders, please let us know if the fix has worked for you.

The fixes should be in build 11809.10000 and onwards.

    -Joe McDaid [Excel Team]

  12. Convert Dynamic Arrays into Tables

The new Dynamic Arrays make possible to automatically fill down formulas. Tables can also fill down formulas. Microsoft Excel Team could make both features be compatible so we could convert Dynamic Arrays into Tables making them expand and shrink according to the main formula.

  13. Excel Open file in multi instance by default

Hi We need to open a new instance of Excel by deflaut each time we open an excel file. The following solution are not suitable.

you can start a new Excel instance (process) by doing the following:
    run “Excel /x” (without quotes)
or the DisableMergeInstance regkey because it works only when you open excel first and then open the file. It does not works double clicking on an excel file. Don't give one of those solution (https://excelgorilla.com/excel/general/open-multiple-instances-excel/) as we need it to be by default as Excel 2010 behavior.

  14. Add Power BI Dataflows as a data source in "Get & Transform Data"

Please add Power BI Dataflows as a data source so that I can import data from a Dataflow into the local spreadsheet/data model.

  15. Add a floating totals row to dynamic arrays

When using dynamic arrays, it would be nice to have the option of a floating totals row at the bottom of the dynamic spill range.

  16. Tables should default to "My table has headers" being ticked

It's taken me 10 years to realise this but I've never "unchecked" My Table has headers, it's ALWAYS the other way round, forgetting to remember to tick it because Excel hasn't recognised the header row.

Let's default the tick to always on ?

  17. Make undo work per workbook, not for all of Excel. I am commonly working in two workbooks and need to undo something I did in the other work

Ctrl + Z should work per workbook, not for all of Excel. I commonly have two workbooks open and work in them simultaneously, but when I use the undo shortcut it backs out through all of excel, instead of just the active workbook.

  18. Have a date function that is shows the date of when a data point was entered

We'd like to have a function in which we could see the date of when a data point was entered into the system. Like that we wouldn't have to enter the date manually every time we entered a data point into the spreadsheet. it would be like an if statment, example( =IF(B3<>" ",DateOfEntry()," ")) the function itself would be the "DateOfEntry()" the issue we have with Today() is that it updates every day and therefore every time we enter the spreadsheet the date information is updated to the current date and we arent able to have proper tracking of the…

  19. Default the Power Query formula bar as on

In the Power Query editor window the formula bar is defaulted as off. This is the first thing I tell people to turn on as it’s key to avoiding unintended errors and future proofing your code.

As Gil Raviv says in his book, “ Enabling the formula bar is fundamental to avoid the pitfalls”

  20. Expand Dark Mode

Provide an option in dark mode in which the cell color defaults to black ( ie "no fill" results in a black background) and the text color defaults to white or light gray
