  1. Bring back 2 formatting shortcuts that were in older versions

    There are two in particular.
    1. When changing the format of the number on a chart & selecting "number" you have the option to specify the number of digits. There used to be up & down arrows to use the mouse to change the number of digits; you could keep your hand on the mouse & select the desired number of digits. Now you can only do this from the keyboard.
    2. It used to be possible to make a number of formatting changes to a curve, select a new curve, & press F4 to apply all of those formatting…

  2. Improve formula auditing, through incorporating Arixcel Explorer into Excel.

Formula auditing / understanding someone else's model is slow using the standard functions in Excel. Arixcel Explorer (http://www.arixcel.com/explorer) does a fantastic job of this. Please just buy them and incorporate into Excel as a standard add-in.

  3. Allow cells to be conditionally formatted to be locked

I would like to be able to put conditional formatting on cells that allows them to be locked in certain cases, and leave them unlocked in other cases. For example, if someone selects "Yes" for an answer, leave cell B1 unlocked so they can fill it out. If they answer "No", no further info is needed so lock cell B1 (which will allow them to tab directly to the next unprotected cell in a protected worksheet). This would help eliminate confusion on what needs to be filled out and also help speed up the process of filling it out.

  4. See All Unchecked Items in a Filter

Have you ever wanted to see just the unchecked items in a filter? Right now there is no way to do this. You should be able to filter just the unchecked items to quickly see which ones you may want to add to the filter.

  5. Add a Blank Field to Pivot Tables

How many times have you had to copy and paste pivot tables to get them to look aesthetically pleasing because you need to enter in blank columns? By allowing for a "blank" column field to be added into pivot tables, you can take out the extra steps of making the pivots look pretty and can leave them in their native state.

  6. file explorer and the "save" and "save as" etc boxes should be larger and have larger default fonts.

Bigger box and bigger fonts when being asked to name, rename, save as file commands

  7. Improve Data Visualization (Analytics) and/or Charting options -- thus making EXCEL the defacto app.

Improvement should include more options (including 3D) than presently available -- bringing more up to par with other offerings (such as Tableau, Prezi, etc.)

This is a very broad statement. Please provide additional details on the specific features that you would like to see. Ideally log those as spate feature requests so that others can vote on them individually.

    Thanks,
    Scott [MSFT]

  8. Have a formula to set the row height, column width or group outline

Having a formula to set the row height or column width, or to change grouping and outlining, will enable dynamically changing the view depending on cell results.

  9. Adding a hyperlink reverts font size

When adding a hyperlink to a cell with a different font size than the one set during workbook creation (see File->Options->General->When creating new workbooks->Font Size) the font size is reverted to the original size.

    This is not desired.

  10. I would like a simple global search of a spreadsheet. One has to go to options, find a dropdown bar, click within, etc. Too many steps.

Please make a simpler global search of a entire spreadsheet (workbook) instead of the many steps needed to search beyond the worksheet. Why not radio buttons on the search box?

  11. Degree and Degree-Minute-Second format for trig operations

In Excel, all angular measurements must be converted to radians from the units they were measured in. Millions of designers and geospatial specialists measure in degrees and D-M-S formats and could use the native degree modes that are found on calculators and other technical software. These could probably just be implemented as number display formats.

  12. More changing cells in Scenarios

Current number of changing cells 32 should be approx. 300-500.

    - invoices / situations in constructing (building specifications, instalations ...)
    - price lists with history

  13. In Office 365, fix the 'reopen after closing' bug

In Office 365, both Excel and Word always try to reopen after I've closed them. This has been reported by many people, but nothing seems to have been done to fix it, even with the regular updates.

  15. Built in macro to Generate Rows as Dates between two dates

A common reporting problem is to generate date wise rows from a given start date and end date. Built in macro can make life so much easier with this feature.

Example: a service order of client X start from 01 Jan 2014 till Jan 2016, need to generate all dates between this two dates so that we can see month wise data for that customer..

  16. Provide a tool to show, in detail, exactly what Excel thinks a cell contains.

When I import data by copying/pasting tabular data or similar, I often wind up with what looks like valid Excel data, but for one reason or another Excel can't process it. It can be something simple, like a spurious trailing (or leading) blank, or more complicated. I have spent hours in the past trying to figure out why Excel can't use what looks like perfectly fine data, and figuring out how to massage that data to make is usable. Excel sorely needs a way to tell the user exactly what it thinks a cell is, with, perhaps, suggestion(s) of how…

  17. Saving a workspace includes the path of all workbooks.

This is just plain awkward and non-transparent to the user. When I save my workspace Excel thinks it knows best by including the full path in the resulting .xlw file. If I make a copy of the workspace and all files in a new folder the workspace continues to "point" to the original location and opens those instead.
There must be some means of making this information available and editable by the user.

  18. Can excel provide a feature where the cell formatting can be copied from multiple cells ?

Example: Cell 1 has blue color and Cell 2 has strikethrough font.

I want the 3 cell to have blue color and strikethrough font.

Can Excel build this unique feature where the user can take up the formatting conditionally and apply it to the resultant cell ?
