Allow for personal user views/filters
When using Excel Online, if you add a filter, everyone using that spreadsheet in Excel Online will see that filter. Can you please add an option for only the one user to see that filter?
We are excited to announce that Sheet View is now available on Excel Web!
Thank you all for voting and influencing Excel Online priorities. Keep voting for other ideas you want us to address.

When will this be available for Excel 365?

Hi Jeff! Could you please give more details? What is exactly the problem?

Can we disable the excel online button to filter for the group. I have a lot of folks using this, and one person clicking the wrong button still breaks everyone's flow. :)
When will this be available when using my desktop app and its a shared workbook
i can see this feature now and we've tested it. this is fantastic! thank you so much for finally activating this feature !!! collaborating will be much easier from now on. =)
Great news for everyone who wants this feature in the Desktop app. Believe it or not, MS posted an update here https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/31976935-filtering-needs-to-work-in-co-authoring to get this feature working in the desktop app. And the update was dated today, Mar 13, 2020. I'm truly floored. I didn't think I'd ever see the day when MS posted an update. I just pray it's completed sometime before the end of time.
maybe you are not talking about Excel for the web, where this thread is posted
If you are following this thread, maybe you are trying to also create an Excel file with range protection (allowing users editing access to certain cells only). I found a bug in version 1902 about this feature and MS confirm it was corrected in a newer version. For unknown reasons, my Office wouldn’t update itself. An IT just fixed this for me by using this command :
"c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user
That forced the update on my side. Now I am aligned with the most recent version : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office365-proplus-by-date
I can see the new feature in Teams, my only gripe is that you require EDIT access in order to be able to create or select a view in Teams, if you don't a minimum of Edit you don't get the option in the task bar. This prevents it being used where you have protected your workbooks to stop teams/individuals making changes.
Has this rollout been completed? I'm not seeing the new feature in the browser in a spreadsheet located in Teams.
I just discovered this rolled out on my spreadsheet recently and im so so excited. This is a game changer for collaborative spreadsheets and will help win over those that are committed to google sheets.

When will this roll out to GCC/H/DOD?

Waiting for roll-out to be using it.

Bug Report: We have a document used for tracking projects and in some of it the cells are protected. We have many users updating their own records on there and have realised that using Filters affects everyone while in Excel. Using the browser view the Sheet View feature seems to work, but when I save a view and try to open it later I get the message "This sheet is protected. Some parts may be view-only and can't be changed" - please look in to this urgently. Thanks

Needs to work with hidden columns

I need this feature on desktop application as well.
Michael Falck commented
Do you know when this personal view is supporting hidden or grouped columns? - it is VERY disturbing when the grouped columns "expand/collapse function" are used, with multiple users in the same sheet.
unfortunately this feature doesn't work with files stored on box, only on onedrive. would it be possible to enable this feature for box as well, as lots of businesses use this? thanks!
When will this fix be available in the desktop app? Working in the web app is painful.

Working great! Finally! Any chance we can get Hidden Columns to work with this as well?
