BUG - Very poor handling of expired tokens when connected to Azure Analysis Services
When establishing a connection to Azure Analysis Services (AAS), Excel reacts quite poorly if a token expires. Say that I query AAS and left Excel idle for 40 minutes. Then I try to query it again. Excel gets unresponsive and quite often users need to use task manager to kill the process.
It doesn’t matter if 20 minutes or 20 hours pass between connections. Fact of the matter is that EXCEL REACTS POORLY when the token expired. The application gets unresponsive and users often don’t know how to react.
Excel should handle this issue in a more elegant way. Rather than just hanging up, a message should appear saying that the token expired and that the user should re-enter credentials in order to proceed.
