How can we improve Excel Online? Vote for an existing idea or share a new one.

cutting data but not the cell format.

I would like to move data (cell content) from a range of cells to another range of cells that have the identical cell format. to my knowledge this is a multi step process but should be only a three step (select range, move and paste). currently I select copy, paste to new range, reselect the original range and delete or select range, cut, paste to new range, select this new range again, click format painter then re format the original range because the "cut" takes away the format with the cell content.

my suggestion is to ad another option to the copy/cut/paste functions. "Move/place". Move/place would take only the data(cell(s) content) leaving the cell(s) format in original form and place the selected data in the new range of identically formatted cell(s). This would trigger an error mssg only if the new range was not "significantly" similar to the originating cell range.
