  2. Take it offline

    • speed and reliability of keystrokes (long delay, unresponsive) reduces accuracy in a numbers-based program. This is horrible when speed and accuracy both matter.

  3. Add a "Select All Tabs" ability in the online version of Excel...

In the Excel version installed on a computer, one can select all tabs, and make wholesale changes to format that affects all of the pages. This function to select all tabs in a workbook seems to be missing. Please add it...

  7. Basic Functions

The inability to select a group of cells, press ctrl, and select another group of cells is detrimental to the online version of Excel. Being user-friendly is the #1 goal!

Additionally, in the desktop version of Excel, the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+;" inputs today's date. Making such functions available in the online version would be useful.

  8. When we open a file in excel online, we should be able to save a copy to our own One Drive seamlessly,

When we open a file from a One Drive, we should be able to save it to our One Drive when working in the 365 education suite, without downloading to our computer first. In Google Drive, I can open any online document and it automatically saves to my One Drive, where I can easily copy it. When I open documents from my file share in Excel Online, I should have this same capability to save to my own One Drive without an in-between step

  9. Licence Google Sheets because Excel online is absolutely terrible, no, I'm serious. It can't even do basic copy/paste without 'WORKING...'

Basic commands and functions take forever to work.

I wait minutes for a basic 4 cell copy/paste, how is this productive, seriously!

Come on MS, you've been in the software game for too long for embarrassing things like this to be slowing down your users (which are forced to use the products).

FYI, we moved away form Google apps and it's the cleanest most responsive UI and features going, didn't even need Excel on the desktop.

  12. Ability to change Calculation mode Automatic->Manual_>Automatic

Excel Online honors the existing calculation mode in an uploaded workbook but does not allow you to change it (you have to download to the desktop, change it and re-upload).
Need the ability to change it without download->change->Upload

  14. Improve movability within spreadsheet, smoother navigation

Have been working on Google for many years now, and recently switched to Outlook (including Excel Online). The spreadsheet does seem to snag up at times (scrolling, for example), and certain tasks do take longer (filling a cell). Much I like about it, but keep working for easy navigation.

  15. Excel Lite

No doubt excel has a lot more in terms of functionality than other spreadsheet providers but due to same fact, excel is quite slower too.
I suggest to have at-least couple of versions i.e. Excel and Excel lite. where lite version provide only basic (daily use) features so that we do not experience performance issues.

Not everyone is an excel expert and there are many features which are not of use in most of the time. so it would be great if we can have lighter and performant excel experience. :)

    Regards,
    Zubair Ali

  16. Add option to require a document to only open in Excel desktop application (prevent opening in web app).

There has got to be some way to set the universal setting that excel will always open in desktop excel and not in online excel. As is right now, every time I open excel I have to go through 4 clicks and about 20 seconds to get it on desktop excel.

  20. Features

Excel Online doesn't have all the features that Excel 2016 has which makes it difficult to use and should be updated.
