Power Query: Make it easier to connect to files on OneDrive and SharePoint
Connecting to Excel files stored on OneDrive and SharePoint is a difficult and confusing experience. While it is possible, it is far too difficult.
As more and more move to working in an online environment we need a simple way of connecting.
Thank you for showing passion for Power Query and various improvements! We are indeed looking to implement this suggestion.
In general, we’re evaluating our future investments and your votes help us to prioritize. Please keep voting if you like these ideas.

Drive a data culture with Power BI: Vision Strategy and roadmap | FS183
Lukasz Pawlowski , Principal program manager at power bi from 12m:10s in the video is talking about excel for the web linking to power bi datasets. When please?
and I hope this is a pro feature and not. premium or premium per user.
How is this actually possible? When I got to sync SharePoint to my Onedrive, I have nothing but issues when editing documents. I.e. edits not saving, file becoming locked, even when all are editing in browser.
Also, there is another post regarding this. Something like "...links between spreadsheets..."
It may be better to add this to that original user issue posting.
What is the point of onedrive and sharepoint if connecting to them is a nightmare. How to cooperate with colleagues? Power tools ... please MS this needs an urgent fix.
Being new to Power Query finding Wyn's YouTube video has been a god send, but this process definitely needs to be simplied.
Pls make it a native process to connect Power Query to a native MS Excel hosted in a native MS Onedrive folder. It is ridiculous that we can connect to so many other data sources with ease but not to our own Excel files in our own Onedrive folders.
I just had the most horrible experience with MS, as working from home, system started to acting up to the point where when toggle between MS apps and remote server flicker and disconnected me like 4 times before it came back, Every Time! I toggle, caused me stress beyond the limit I still feel depressed, sad and suicidal, besides the whole enchilada here at home being abused, my bipolar son decided it's the best time to have the most horrible crisis, because of you and your connection issues, I was told to go back on site, I'm anemic, depressed, saD, have lost like 25 kilos from march till now, besides other 2 health issues developed these months, runny nose, neurotic, so I thought, well if I'm gonna go let's do it now and quick; Just wanna let u know it's on you MS, is so **** difficult have all connected just with a click? word, excel, teams, outlook, photos, all are a nightmare when trying to work between apps. Hope there was other programs more empathetic with us humans we could use, I'm so mad with u MS...
My company refuses to use this method of connection. Please simplify
please solve this problem.

agree for that, should be simpler
Fully agree that as we migrate towards one drive there needs to be integration with the excel power query.

This process is a nightmare for users and a disgrace for MS as a « user centric » organisation. i hope it will be improved quickly !
Makes my head hurt every time I have to connect to SP
Fully agree that the existing process flow is a nightmare. Ever tried to make this work with VBA???
Come on MS, you can do much better ;-)

Here's a link to the current 2 workarounds. Neither is very satisfactory https://youtu.be/igcCbKqtwrk

The way you need to go to make things work is a struggle. And when I finally made it, other colleagues can't use it or even connect to it

I am signed into my organisation's SharePoint account from the moment I log on to my laptop. All of our files are in the cloud. Isn't it odd that the hardest place from which to extract information is the one place meant for the dissemination of information - SharePoint. There has to be an easier method of accessing corporate files. Come on Power Query Team give us a 'From SharePoint' button to press.
True, the company that I made my internship was having a hard time to make it work and because of that we lost loads of time !!!!!!!!
Can we add Power BI datasets to this connector vote. It would neat to connect to power bi datasets in the web version of excel
