Maintain hidden rows/columns in "sheet view" so other users are not affected by the change
Sheets view offers a private view of the Excel sheet when sorted or filtered, another common change is hiding rows/columns but that currently affects all users when sharing document.
Allow for row/column views to remain private in Sheet View so others are not affects.
absolutely necessary for us in desktop version

I wish I could vote more than once. If I can see everyone else's filters, it significantly inhibits collaboration since I can't work on the file when someone else filters or hides columns based on their interests. I would rather go back to our prior semi-shared files since at least then I could look at a file that someone else had checked out without being forced to look at what they are looking at.
Seconding this. My team needs to have the ability to filter their data (alerts) by their username. When doing this, it's not showing all the rows of their data. Filtering also shouldn't affect anyone elses view while the user is updating that row/column. Microsoft, PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS ASAP.
I would like the ability to create specific sheet views by hideing specific columns.
Unfortunately hideing columns is not part af the sheet view.
Would you please look into the option to allow users to create personal views by hideing columns not only filtering rows?
it's been so many years since MS offered team collaboration on Office products. This shouldn't take this long to resolve. ONLY changes from any user should be synced so all users see, do NOT sync how 1 user views the document - be it filter, hidden column, etc. Come on MS! Google Docs offers such features years ago. Catch up.
totally agree on this
a very frustrating omission from co authoring
This is becoming a huge issue. Having custom views that don't reset to default once a column is hidden or expanded is critical. Otherwise we're looking at having to maintain multiple spreadsheets with the same information or having to manually adjust rows/columns for each view each and every time. This really needs to be fixed. We are using this in Teams.
why would the current sheet view feature be limited to sorting and filtering? I dont understand why it would not include columns/row hiding as well.
Agree with the need for support in "Sheet Views" for hide/group/widths!

at the bottom of the sheet, there is a first horizontal scrollbar which allows to navigate right to left within the sheet, there is also a second scrollbar which controls the navigation between the tabs of the document. This scrollbar hides all the tabs and it is very difficult to choose one of them.
I wish to hide the scrollbar which controls the tab navigation

Adding the views created by Split and Freeze Panes to the list would be helpful as well.
Changing the width/height of the column/row also seems to affect other's sheet view while working on the file at the same time.
So things that need improvement that are currently affecting others are:
1. Hide/Unhide the rows/columns
2. Group/Ungroup the rows/columns
3. Change the widths/heights of the rows/columns
If anyone has more issues, you can add to this list.
Hope to have these fixed as soon as possible.

This would make sharing larger data sets where different users have different needs much more practical - at the moment it makes this type of sharing via sharepoint useless for our data sets
this is making Excel on the Web unworkable for us - team are starting to look at alternatives
Also sheet view NEEDS to be added to the desktop version, but ONLY with this feature.
Microsoft, you can't push a product as an enterprise solution and then not allow enterprise collaboration without a bunch of special rules and recommendations how suddenly now that you're Office 365 you have to change your ENTIRE workflow. How do you expect 100 people or more to work on a spreadsheet at the same time and not ***** each other over without private views?
One additional request:
Grouping/Un-grouping the columns/rows also affecting others. So need these remain personal when using Personal Sheet View.
agreed, it is currently inconsistent with excel desktop..
The same problem, if someone disable filters, it disable it for all views. Can that be added to the mentioned idea?
