Define Name for a range
Name a range in Excel Online and make available to use in formulas in other workbooks
As a programmer, I believe it is something Microsoft developers in the Excel team should work on. Why? Because I'm sure they could release at least a basic version of Name Manager in just a couple weeks of work. Basic version means giving the ability to do three things: (1) check which ranges are currently defined, (2) enabling to create new ranges, (3) permitting to rename named range. So this development has a very high cost effectiveness ("value for money") in IMHO.

I just got to know today the its not yet possible to name a range in online and web version of Microsoft Excel. However i hope that in coming day this option will be available, and also that like minded excel engineers and professional are working to make this more easy.
having this function is vital to make it easier to do calculations

I tried to create named tables in Excel windows app it worked. but when i try to access them on SharePoint they are not showing.
So, trying to create new workbook in SharePoint online and add the named ranges in the Excel Online, this option is not available.
Now i am locked.
Please enable this feature on Excel ONLINE as soon as possible.

Yes!!! This is definitely a needed option for anyone doing 'real' Excel work.
I'm trying to create a named range but the function is not available on the online version :(
In mobile settings names ranges are a ton easier to use than squidgy $row or $col notations. The apps NEED this too.
I failed my assignment because this was not in online excel
(Note) I have a chrome book and i can NOT get excel download onto here.
For managing Data base functions, named ranges are extremely important.
I need this function so bad
The title perfectly explains my problem
Add ability to define named ranges on the web. Excel is useless to me without this. :-(
Add Define Names and the Formula tab
