Allow Multiple formating (fonts, color, Bold, Italic etc) in a single cell
Our group just recently started using OneDrive for collaboration of an Excel document that we use on a daily basis. However, when trying to edit the document in the Browser, only one color can be applied to a cell. When using Excel in a local file, you can have more than one font color in a single cell by highlighting the targeted words in the cell and then choosing a different color.
Recommendation: Make it possible to have multiple colors in a cell when editing an Excel document in browser like you can do in a local file.
Thank you all for your comments and votes supporting this suggestion. We are now in the planning stages to support Rich text editing in Excel for the web.
This is basic functionality. Thank you! Obviously an online workflow is not practical without it. Very excited to see this change and be able use work online! I will be happy to report this to my editing team.

Need the option to only BOLD certain words, not the whole cell while using OneDrive.
we sometime need to change the font color in the part of text in side same cell, as it is useful for co-edit file
currently it was supported on excel apps
but not work in web excel or excel in MS Team!
As others have noted, this simple change is taking too long. We need this ability to function efficiently!
This is the most basic action to implement. Please make it possible.

If it's not too much to ask, can you guys resolve the issue before Jesus comes, thanks and God bless.....
Hey after reading the comments below I now know that Google Drive will work. Not sure why I am paying so much for office365 if there is another option that will have the basic functionality of being able to use multiple font colors in the same cell. If I learned nothing more today I learned that at least google is an option. Let me know if this actually gets taken care of. Until then G-suite here we come.
EXCEL ONLINE -- Yes, we need to able to change the font colors/font types of individual words in a single cell without having to change every word in the cell to the same colors/fonts.

This is ridiculous. How can 3 years go by and no update was done to make this feature available?
Its nearly Three years, come on Microsoft!

These two ideas are duplicates of this one. Please add in their 14 & 37 votes to this one:

We recently moved a big team spreadsheet from Google docs to Excel online and are really struggling with this!!
Agreed, it's a pain to have to open it in the desktop Excel version to highlight specific words in a cell. It would be great to be able to do it in the online version.

Trying to pin-point key text to my team (in my case - code) is a massive pain without this functionality.. Please look to implement this.

"Excel Online doesn't currently support formatting text within a cell..."
This is not entirely true...
It resets the formatting after some function is applied - see attached image
MS thinks changing Office Online name is more important than adding real functionality.. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Office-Apps-Blog/Why-Office-Online-is-Now-Simply-Office/ba-p/760207
Agreed. My work is rendered horribly difficult by this stupid and simple formatting issue. My colleagues are moving to G-Suite...

This is regarding the font colour and type change between the sentences within single cell on Excel online. Please find the attachment.
Why does it take sooooo long?
This is a main reason that people move to google docs!!! it works there !
Please implement as soon as possible
