Add ability to reference a cell in another sheet with a simple click (like the desktop version)
In the desktop version of excel, I can reference a cell from another sheet in my formula simply by clicking to that tab and cell. For example to make ='Sheet2'!A1 , I simply have to hit "=" and then click to the tab and cell I want in the formula.
In Excel Online, it is not as user friendly. In order to achieve that reference in a formula, I would need to type out the entire formula, in the process clicking back and forth to remember which cell I am referencing.
I can get the "=" to reference a cell in another sheet, but when I sort the rows in the referenced sheet, the target cell does not change. Thus, the data is not accurate (and cannot be trusted). Inserting rows on the reference sheet seems to work ok.
Hi Richard, Can you let me know how you do it even by entering the entire formula? I can't even get that to work?
this is quite painful
I can't even get it to reference a formula from one worksheet to another no matter what I do. So frustrating. Can it be a browser issue?
Google allows this! Let's go MS get with the times....
