2 years and the 5Mb file limit exists ????
That's close to useless. Try 100Mb at least.
Sheesh

At least 200 mb will be a good start

How can you beat google sheet with 5MB file size limitation? Size does matter.

Apparently, in Japan the limit was raise to 50 MB, if the previous poster is to be believed. It is still 5MB where I am sitting - after years of complaining.

<EN> It has been raised to 50 MB, but we hope for further increase.

The limit is too small, it is trivial.

@NC: Absolutely right!

An online version should be able to outpace a local installation due to the huge server power behind it. Therefore, any limits that are lower than those of a local installation are going to make the online version flop.

I mean, I do get it. I can see where Microsoft wants you to use PowerBI etcetera. It's smarter. I guess. But, I have seen where Google does allow you to import a 200MB + SpreadSheet and work it like nobody's business. It's amazing actually.

Limiting the size virtually excludes F1 users that do not have the offline app.

Larger file size. 30 MB does not allow for a reasonable data model. It would be far more practical if Excel Online could handle 150-200 MB files without having to open Excel desktop.

My excel online file size is more than 5 mb. Alteast allow me to reduce the file size by deleting some unwanted rows and formats. Pls help and suggest how to proceed. There is some garbage in my file and I can definitely reduce. Also you should have given a warning , alert with file size so that I could have ensured the file size to be smal.
