Support UDF(User Defined Function) in Excel Online
Without supporting UDF (User Defined Function) in Excel online, this service is pretty useless for any professional Excel users or any corporate environments where Excel VBA, Macros, Add-Ins are widely used.
And, do not forgot, Google Spreadsheet already has it. A lot of people think UDF+Macro are the main advantages Excel Desktop version really has.
As a work around on this issue, we have been sharing files through O365 OneDrive with those on our teams meetings rather than loading the excel file in Teams for collaboration. When sharing in O365 OneDrive we are able to see real-time changes from other users when we are all in the document, this includes UDFs. Hope that helps.
Whenever I create an Excel tab in Microsoft Teams the preexisting formulas within the spreadsheet become invalid. The formulas remain in the cells, but all that is displayed is #Name?. The formula that I have "= countifs(....)", with the reference to a hidden worksheet. These formulas work outside of Teams in Excel. The formulas that do work within Teams are very basic (SUM, AVERAGE, ETC.).
Hi Microsoft Team, we are using Microsoft Teams to share the excel file which has formulas which exactly denotes the team performance. Since it is not showing while file is uploaded in the Teams, the file uploaded becomes useless. Can you guys please make this happens. The Excelsheet belongs to Microsoft and when we are uploading the excel to the TEams it shows exactly what it is in the normal excel. Awaiting feedback. Thanks
come on guys. not even the =a1+b1 formula is working. i understand it is free but you don't gain enough money to be greedy at that point. my good.
Cell filters do no show the same result in Teams as they do on local files.

Definitely a huge demotivation for using Excel in Teams other than to display simple data. I was hoping to be able to integrate VBA applications in Excel and be able to run them through the Team channels. e.g. customer billing app in excel would be in the Billing channel, CRM app would be in the sales channel etc. It seems this is not possible. Please fix it. not everyone uses powerapps or is likely to use powerapps any time soon.

We have users that need UDF supported just so that their files will open in Teams or in Excel Online. They set up some formulas in their files to pull data from tables they created like this, “=COUNTIF(Table16[[second meal ]],"*chicken*")” instead of like this, “=COUNTIF(C2:C46,"*chicken*")”. They both come out to the same result, but if the formula uses a table then it's not supported in Teams Excel and says they have to open the file in the desktop app. Can we please get UDF supported?

We are new to Teams and checking it out to see if it is for us. This issue of not supporting some of the formulas, including macros, is a definite negative in our evaluation. We are comparing it to "out of the can" software that does more for you but may not be as customizable. Please fix this issue to put Teams as the clear front runner.

Google Spreadsheet is better with UDF, it's fast and simple
Anyway UDF support is must have feature for all Excel versions!
